Black Sallees has long been our favourite place on the mountain but, for us, the new menu is a fail. Pricey Japanese options are all that's now on offer so no more kranskys, nachos, egg & bacon rolls, Burgers... you know, the food you really want when you're skiing right? Captain Sandy is always frothing in life behind the bar, him and his wife provide an outstanding atmosphere.

It’s generally rammed and hard to find seats at peak hours, and always rammed on days with low visibility or high wind when no one wants to be outside, which at thredbo is pretty often.

Absolutely awesome place to come for lunch and drinks. The fire is always beautiful to come inside to and warm up after a hard day skiing or boarding.
