So sorry that I have to leave a negative review. It's a nice place overall, but I unfortunately got food poisoning after having dessert and coffee here. I spent several days with a fever and vomiting and I'm still not feeling well. The only suspicious food I had at the time was the lemon meringue tart. My doctor said that it could have been due to bacteria from raw eggs. I reckon that you must review your food safety practices.
Update.
Thank you for your response. I must first address the issue of contacting my partner directly regarding a review that I wrote. Using her personal information, which was provided only for a previous table booking, to discuss an unrelated matter raises serious privacy concerns. There are many obvious reasons why this practice is problematic, and it's important that personal information is used only for the purpose it was originally intended.
Regarding the review, I was disappointed that you didn’t acknowledge that my concern about food poisoning was based on a discussion with my GP who indicated that the symptoms were consistent with foodborne illness. You mentioned that I should have contacted you directly, but as you noted, neither of us could provide conclusive evidence. Therefore, I felt that sharing my experience publicly was the best way to inform others. My intention was never to harm your business, but rather to honestly share what happened based on the symptoms and medical advice I received.
With this all being said and considering how things have been handled, I have to drop my rating to 1 star. It’s disappointing that not only was there an issue in the first place, but the way it’s been dealt with afterwards has made things even worse.
I hope this feedback is helpful for your future interactions with customers and that it contributes positively to your continued commitment to...
Read moreExcellent food, however, we had such an unpleasant, embarrassing encounter with one of the waitresses...
We showed up in our motorhome for breakfast, the service was great and the food - even better. After the meal we went back to our motorhome and decided to stick around for a couple of hours and do some work as we work remotely. We were the only motorhome in the long vehicle parking bay and rest of the carpark was quite empty, so we decided it should be ok for now. After a couple of hours we went in to grab a cup of coffee before leaving. As soon as we walked in, it seemed the staff had spoken about us before and had decided it was a problem we had stuck around. Instead of mentioning something about it, the waitress was incredibly rude and gave us attitude about not having a booking and made remarks about us "only" wanting coffee; At that point we decided to leave as we didn't want to argue or cause a scene. As we were walking out, another staff member approached us and asked politely to leave as they have some bookings that needed the entire long bay, which is completely understandable.
It would've been completely reasonable to explain to us that only whilst eating you can be parked outside and must leave shortly thereafter, or that you need to order more food or whatever their policy is, and we would've happily obliged, however instead we got this...
Read moreTWO THUMBS DOWN for the food and service! Don't be fooled by the menu or website marketing as this was very disappointing. After booking online and looking forward to a nice lunch, we got there on time only to be told that our reserved table was still occupied and we would have to take another table 10 minutes later. Odd because on the one hand, each table has a small reminder sign telling patrons to observe their time and on the other hand staff told us we can take as long as we wanted. When the food came out, it looked like something you would get at a run-down truck-stop (small and expired). The eggs were runny, the bacon and meat was rock hard, the chicken tasted microwaved, the onion rings was 95% batter cooked in old oil, and their featured pickled onions were non-existent (unless you count 1 small one and some shavings hidden in a few leaves of baby spinach). When this awful experience was explained to the manager (kindly), we were told that the tiny amount of pickled onion was standard and that the best they could do was take off the price of the drinks but we had to pay the rest of the large bill for over-rated, over-priced, cost-cutting, amateur meals - prepared and cooked as if someone had a rough night! If you want 10/10 instead of this 2/10 grub, go to Mrs. Jones instead! By the way, the table we originally booked was still occupied...
