The moment you walk in, you love this hotel. There are so many visual textures to keep you walking around in admiration. There's pressed metal, gaudy Chesterfield furniture, light shades made from old glassware, rustic features, and it goes on. In addition to the bar and dining area, there are a couple of event rooms. Upstairs is The Loft, and the other room is characterised by the largest inverted Hills hoist. Another feature room is the tank wine cellar. Basically, it was a massive well, fed by ground water. It has only recently been converted into a cellar. You can see some of the best Australian reds here. These are the 1986 and 1990 Barossa vintages for me. Bring your chequebook as you'll want to enjoy the wine before discovering your bank balance. Lunch was awesome. The afternoon shines in the large windows as you look out over the valley toward Summertown. The menu offers, 7hr smoked half chicken and 9hr smoked pork rib Both were well presented and tasted awesome. Crushed kipler potatoes were a perfect accompaniment. This is definitely a place for a long lunch with plenty of conversation. On another occasion, I tried the Uraidla burger. Homemade chips accompany the plate. The burger is definitely worth the hands-on effort. Juicy and full of the flavours you'd expect feom good country produce.

Bloody Great Pub... Pay attention pub owners of Radelaide, you could learn a lot from the Uraidla Hotel. This place is one of few that have achieved the holy trinity of hospitality = Food, Service & Venue. The menu here isn't anything out of the ordinary. It showcases but a dozen or so items, yet Chefs execution is spot on and every dish ticks the all important "yum" box (kids menu included). Service is often where most places fall short, not here. Although a young team, its amazing what a smile and attentiveness can do to lift a patrons experience. Finally, set amongst the beautiful Adelaide Hills, this recently resurrected old pub hasn't lost any of its historic charm. When you get the formula right... it just works. Oh and if that isnt enough, next door is the Uraidla Cafe & name sake Brewery. I suggest you grab your family and friends, order a cold beer or glass of wine and let the team at the Uraidla do the rest... although be sure to book as this place is always pumping.

This is am eye popping amazing place. Atmosphere is fantastic. Food excellent. Service good and staff are really friendly. Only 5 years ago this hotel was closed. Gee what a turn around. A fabulous renovation on the whole place. Atmosphere was uber cool. A great place to be summer or winter. So many beautiful different places to be within this one place. Beautiful gardens. An incredible amount of people there today. So many different people. There to lunch, to drop in, to fill in time while waiting on a wedding, a bucks show and a baby shower. This place was incredible. We were lucky enough to meet the Manager Heath, he was extremely friendly. Happy to show us the wine cellar and tell us many of the features inside the pub & about all the renovations and functions, plus wine tasting. If you haven't been here. Well you are missing out. A truly remarkable experience. Have lunch, dinner or a drink. You won't be disappointed 🍸🍷🍾🍺🍹

My Partner and I had dinner here last night. The surroundings were nice, staff were friendly, the reserved signs on every table were confusing tho...I asked for a Moscato and they didn't have one. The waitress found something similar, which I tasted before buying which I appreciated. (It was then labelled on the a/c as Moscato, bit confusing)...the menu was surprising...the garlic bread for $10 was just a chunk of bread, almost sliced thru but u had to put yr own butter on and a big 'hunk' of roasted garlic was sitting on the serving board. It was overpowering to say the least! We didn't use the garlic...sort of defeats ordering a garlic bread! Our meals came and I had ordered a parmy...the chips were overcooked, the green vegies were almost raw (I don't mind half raw vegies but I couldn't even get my fork into them!), the parmy itself was explained by the waitress as mouthwatering...well, it was hardly that! The only way to describe it was that it tasted 'floury'...it was oily, the breadcrumbs were soggy and I didn't even eat a third of it! My Partner ordered whiting...it was literally cut up in strips (I think to hide that it was only a small serve) and was an entree size. He said it had no taste to it...I actually gave him some of my parmy (which he agreed tasted floury) as he was so hungry! I was told instead of it being 'tough veal' by the waitress when ordering it was an actual steak and u could slice it with a butter knife. It was none of this...it was tough and what made it worse was that there was bacon on it instead of ham and it was over salty. The ambience in the Hotel was nice...can't say the same for the food...where's the roast of the day or even something like a mixed grill with local produce??? Very dissapointing...we won't be back unless a few things change...especially the prices as it wasn't value for money at all...very overpriced!............

Julie-Peter...your response is very patronising...to say the least!!! The fish definately wasn't in fillets. I come from a Family that have been fishing for years...whiting included! They were definately in strips and it was an entree serve. If your produce is locally sourced then why is it so overpriced?!? Surely if its local it should be cheaper. Other restaurants advertise 'locally sourced produce' but isn't overpriced like WE felt on the night...my snitchzel was 'sold' to me by the waitress as 'being able to cut thru it with a butter knife'...that wasn't the case. It was tough, had soggy breadcrumbs on it and tasted floury! The chips had been cooked in old oil which needed to be changed. The brussel sprouts were hard...I quite like vegetables par cooked, but when u can't get your fork in it to eat it as they were rock hard, they are inedible! We had a lengthy talk to the waitress on the night and even she couldn't understand why there was no roast of the day on the menu! It's a Hotel, not a Restaurant as such and people expect to eat 'pub type meals', not Restaurant menu meals. I have eaten in Hotels/Restaurants/Cafes/Eateries throughout Europe, UK and Australia and have never had a sub standard meal like this...reviews are there to be learnt from...not to patronise the...

As locals and reasonably regular customers who eat at the Uraidla Hotel, on this occasion we did take out and picked it up. We ordered chicken wings as the dipping sauce makes this dish, and Halloumi Fries which also comes with a dipping sauce which we wanted to try, and a few other dishes and a kids meal (which, by the way, didn’t have the side serve of carrots and celery as advertised on the menu).

Unfortunately, when I got home the sauces were absent from the chicken wings and the Halloumi fries. Absolutely gutted, I called and explained our predicament. We were offered to come and collect the sauces, but with a 20 minute return journey, picking up sauces was not an option for us as the food would be seriously cold. I was told a full refund could not be made over the phone and the manger would call me back the next day.

Fast forward 2 week, still no word from the pub, so I called them again. And I got diabolical customer service!!! Richard (one of the managers) said that because I no longer had my receipt, he wouldn’t help. Even with providing time of transaction, my name etc, that was not enough, nor showing proof of purchase via my phone payment. Eventually he said come in and he would sort it out. On arrival he explained I’d had the meal with only part of it missing, BUT I didn’t have the meal, the meal comes with sauces and they weren’t there!!!! And, for all my efforts, refunded only the price of the sauces that was $5 per sauce. Totally unacceptable!

I could liken what happened to: ordering fish and chips and finding no chips, and being refunded only for the chips.

Customer care and service was non existent. I did tell Richard when he refunded me $10 that I was unhappy. I can’t help but wonder whether they care because they are so busy, and that one disgruntled customer is unimportant and of no consequence to them. Also…

Is this legal.? Not refunding in full what is advertised? When part of your meal is missing, do you expect full or partial refund?

This was a treat for us that was tainted without sauces. Both need sauce in my opinion or they are a bit dry…in fact, they were very dry without the sauces #saucegate. Today has now turned into an unpleasant customer experience, with a partial small refund that took over an hour to get....

(I can give star ratings for rooms(because you're listed as a hotel foremost to a restaurant I guess but I can't speak to them), service and location are both 5s, if I could rate your food, it'd be a four, rating systems like this are harsh, I'd give an overall rating of 4 1/2 but I can't, I'd rather list and overall 5 than a 4.) The Uraidla hotel is beautiful, in a gorgeous location, it's beautifully decorated and on cold nights that fireplace is wonderful. We've been 4 or 5 times overall and never had an experience that would stop us coming back. This review is a bit late, we attended on the 25th of September. Theresa served us for the most part, she was kind and timely and real. We really enjoyed her service. Food time, the menu this time around did not seem as earthly as previous visits, however there was great variety and we really enjoyed everything. A friend ordered her steak medium-well, which was more medium-rare. (This was fine with us as she orders medium-well to make up for an undercook, but a fussier steak eater may have been returned it.) We ordered three of the desserts and shared them between the four of us. Our only issue was that the warm apple crumble wasn't warm enough, more room temperature in the middle. Good points though, we enjoyed everything we ordered, the steak tasted great, was cooked to a standard we enjoyed, the rump was amazing (it was the table favourite), another had the surf and turf pie and enjoyed it, we got the potatos and the "garlic bread" (apologies, Ive forgotten what this was actually called on the menu, and Ive forgotten a main meal item.) We also enjoyed all our desserts. No complaints on the drinks, we were here for my birthday and I came here for beer, the coconut stout the Uraidla brewery makes is one of my favourite stouts made in Australia. This year they made an imperial coconut stout instead which is just as good. The only problem with this is I can't...
