UPDATE: 1/10/25 Our first visit for the year. Nothing seems to change…… The course was in excellent condition given we are at the end of Spring. The greens were great to putt on…… fast and true. Fairways had excellent roll. Bunkers were all manicured. We had a chat with Michael the head greenkeeper. His current project is the re-development of the 10th tee block. Volunteers contribute significantly to upkeep of the Golf Course. The golf course is in such a beautiful and peaceful setting. Since our last visit there seemed to be many more kangaroos throughout the golf course. They really do add to the overall experience. We had another great day out and very much look forward to our next visit. It is one of the best country SA courses. Please read my previous reviews...... highly recommend that you add Victor Harbor Golf Course to your bucket list of courses to play in country S.A. You’ll have a great day out!!!

UPDATE: 7/6/24 Victor Harbor golf course was in excellent condition for this time of the year. On a beautiful calm morning we hit off around 7.00am from the magnificent 1st hole. Ollie was very welcoming in the pro shop. Michael (head greenkeeper) and his staff were also very welcoming. There were volunteers working hard to ensure the course was presented in top class condition. Greens, fairways and bunkers were in excellent condition.Members should be very proud of their course. Lots of kangaroos add to the overall experience.

UPDATE: 2/2/24 We’ve had a very cool summer. We’ve also had significant rainfall in the last few weeks……. The course was in great condition. Fairways had excellent roll. Greens were great to putt on. Bunkers are always well maintained making them almost “pleasurable” to hit out of ?????!!!!! Every time we visit on a Friday ground staff and volunteers are very busy maintaining greens, bunkers and tee blocks. Ollie in the Pro shop was very welcoming. We had a great day out.

UPDATE: 2/6/23: as we move into winter Victor Harbor golf course was in excellent condition - fairways, bunkers and greens. Michael (Head greenkeeper) and his team, plus volunteers do a fantastic job. Very picturesque with lots of kangaroos early in the morning. Excellent course to play when it is hot elsewhere ...... I’ve played this course when it’s up to 10° cooler compared to Adelaide. Excellent layout and has some great holes.......... 1st hole is famous for fantastic views (I always take a photo). The Pro shop is well stocked and has some very Competitive prices. Ollie and Chris were very welcoming in the pro shop. UPDATE: 2/12/22 Finally we are moving out of winter…… Whatever happened to spring. Given the amount of rain that had fallen in the middle of last month…… the course was in fantastic condition. Well done to Michael (Head greenkeeper) and his team plus all the dedicated volunteers that help maintain such a high standard for the course. The greens were perfect and the ball rolled beautifully. The fairways were in the top class condition. Andy in the pro shop went out of his way to make us feel very welcome. Please read my previous reviews. UPDATE: 9/9/22 We are just coming out of a very long wet winter. The course was in excellent condition. Before teeing off we chatted with Michael (Head greenkeeper) He talked about the upgrade to the irrigation system. Ground staff and volunteers were working all over the course. Andy was very welcoming and the pro shop. UPDATE: 29/4/22 As expected, all aspects of the course were in excellent condition- greens, fairways and bunkers. Volunteers were already there before we teed off….. big reason that the course is always in excellent condition. Michael ( head greenkeeper) made mention that they were replacing the irrigation controller and wiring system over the 18 holes. Cameron was very welcoming in the Proshop. Excellent welcoming Club, stunning course. clean toilets. awesome new driving range, sumptuous food in the newly taken over restaurant.

And then there's the pro shop, Ian, Ollie and Alison, have helped my young son. From a very basic player/learner, when we moved here from another local club to a vastly improved, competent, engaged and wanting to practice player. As a parent I really wanted him to find 'his sport' and with the pro shops help I think we have cracked it

My son is only 9 and yet he is welcomed by everyone with hellos and smiles

The after school programme for kids is excellent and my son and now other school friends are learning this great game.

my only regret is that I never had this chance when I was young!
