The setting is just beautiful - and the food we've eaten there today and in the past has been delicious. They, like most places, are clearly short-staffed at the moment and struggling a bit as a result (drinks served with bottle tops still on, no sugar with some coffees, ran out of plates and soy milk..). Even so, the staff were all friendly and clearly doing the best they could at a busy time. Unfortunately I think they miss opportunities to make the overall experience better: the menu is unclear for people needing special diets (gluten free, vegan, vegie etc) - they do have options but not a lot, and it's hard to know what they are without interrogating staff. The paper menu doesn't match the online one which you have to use to order. It's hard to tell what's a main vs a side, and our starters and mains all came out at once - didn't matter in the end but could be a bit annoying. It's such a shame that the outdoor seating (which is most of the seating in this stunning place) is not licenced for alcohol: so it's only alcohol free beer or soft drinks in the garden. Only 2 high chairs in this huge place, and no kids menu - our kids had chips for lunch and they're very salty (we did order salt on the side for our 1 year old's sake but it didn't happen). Yet the garden is very welcoming for kids - space for them to run around, even the odd garden game to use (although these seem to have dwindled away to meagre offerings recently). Nappy change table is next to the sink in the ladies' toilets - I chose to change our son's stinky nappy outside instead, and dads wouldn't have a choice. So - could be a better experience overall but they get away with lots of issues because the place is so beautiful and the food is yum. Don't sweat the small stuff and you'll have...

Used to be a great headge maze, minigolf and breakfast. Very disapointed to see that both are no longer available. Used to be a very popular place for a morning ride but when they are only opening at 11am for coffee and cake very disappointing and not worth a morning ride out to esspecialy if it is a hot day. Thought the maze might have been removed to enhance the quality of the gardens, but it doesn't seem to be the case. Pond very run down and perfect home for mosquitoes, weeds everywhere and lawn needs a good clean up around the trees and fencing. Hoped to see better. Staff were great though hence...

Setting was beautiful but we had to sit at a dirty table that didn’t get cleared from the previous guests. We sat at the same table for an hour and no one came to clear the table or to set it new for us. The only contact we got with the waitresses was when they dropped our food off. Disappointing because we are happy to pay the price for good food but good service should come as the package and not just stop once you have paid for the food - which is how it felt. Was excited to try/visit this place - drove over 1.5 hours to get here, but wouldn’t recommend it to...

This place is a little slice of heaven! Food is truly exceptional. We had- prawn skewers, pork belly skewers, gnocchi, fried chicken and stuffed zucchini flowers. We couldn't choose a favourite! Very generous servings. Drinks menu great for non-drinkers with plenty of mocktail choices as well as soft drinks. Alcohol drinkers are well taken care of. The setting is sublime. We sat under the trees last time, gorgeous for a long relaxed lunch. This time we were in a gazebo. Beautiful! My only advice is to not order all your food at once, because the service is very fast!

Having eaten at quite a large amount of spot across the Vic High Country, this is by far the best. Set on five beautiful acres in Wandiligong, it’s the perfect mix of relaxed and refined. I grew up going to The Maze, sad it’s closed now but 5 Acres more than fills that gap. The food is outstanding, cocktails (and mocktails) are spot on, and there’s entertainment for the kids plus food they’ll actually eat. Even your furry friend is welcome. Breathtaking setting, amazing service an absolute gem.

Location was amazing...very rural setting and nearby historic town. The food was excellent: tempura prawns and zucchini flowers were great; the pear and walnut salad was the BEST we ever had!! The Beechworth pale ale was yum and the hibiscus mocktail was delicious. The service was very friendly and efficient. It is well worth driving the short distance from Bright to this lovely alpine area.
