Baringo Food & Wine Co. CAFE - I visited here with my 4 month old baby and 2 year old son. We patiently waited in line to order, where I was holding my baby in one arm and the hand of my toddler in the other. Upon payment, I asked the staff member (who happens to be the manager) if she could bring me our some tap water. She stated “it’s there” and pointed to the bench with bottles and glasses on. I said “I have my hands full, could you bring it out for me please”. Reluctantly, her colleague dumped the water bottle and glasses on the table where we were sitting outside. I then asked this staff member if she could bring me a high chair, to which she rolled her eyes. When she returned with the high chair, almost throwing it to the ground, I asked “is it too much trouble for you to help me with this” and she said “we’re busy”. I replied, “too busy to bring me a high chair for my child”, to which she stated “I come here to work”!!!! Curious, I then asked “is bringing a high chair not part of your job” and, ASTONISHINGLY, she replied “that’s a mothers job”!!!!! 😡😡😡😡 Seriously, this is such a disgusting and rude attitude towards people visiting with children. They were happy to take my money, yet not assist with providing a safe seat for my child to eat his food in. Had I not already paid, and my toddler not needed to eat, I would have left the venue. We were clearly not welcome there. Other patrons witnessed this and their jaws dropped, as did mine, at the final statement from this staff member.
Such a shame that a local community cafe cannot be more accommodating to families.
Seemingly, the woman who had an issue organising water for me is also the manager. So if she’s time modelling and condoning such rude, hurtful and offensive behaviour, there’s no hope that even this feedback will improve things. This place does not deserve the custom. They should be ashamed of the way they treated me and my...
Read moreCame in here today after an appointment, had an hour to wait for my train home. No signage about whether to seat yourself or wait to be seated. Went in what appeared to be the front door, but it's sort-of a hallway-come-dining nook? Went back out, then entered through the left door and went to the counter. Asked about the seating and was advised to take a menu, pick a seat, then come back to order at the counter. I said I'd just have soup of the day (advertised on specials board), told no soup available today. This is 1230, but menu mainly shows 'breakfast' food. Ordered an eggs benedict muffin and glass of wine, told no wine available, but beer bottles in fridge. Did I read incorrectly, or is this place not called 'Food and Wine Co'? Maybe called that as a practical joke? Ordered a caramel latte, which I have to say was quite delicious. Eggs Benedict, not so much. Tasted like the hollandaise came out of a degrading plastic bottle, quite chemical/stale flavour. Had been admiring this place for a while, as I pass it often whilst on the train, but after today, can guarantee that I won't be returning. Should have read...
Read moreI’m so mad because this could’ve been amazing and 5 stars review if I got what I asked for. My partner was very happy with his food and the garlic bread was amazing too but I asked for my steak well done. I can’t eat raw meat and everything that isn’t properly cooked for me is raw. I don’t care other people’s opinion about it, I wanted it well done. The edge of the steak was pretty good but the more I cut the more pink it became revealing a medium well steak in the middle which made me feel sick. The photo doesn’t give back perfectly how pink it was. Ruined my Valentine’s Day, just hoping for not throwing up now. Definitely not coming back.
I can’t answer to the owner’s question any other way so I edit my review: No, I didn’t talk to the staff about it, we have already waited for about 45 minuted for our food, so I just ate some part of the meat that was edible for me and the side. Also the restaurant was stuffed as well, didn’t want to wait another 45 minutes for a new steak at 8:30 pm (at...
