I recently visited the Blue Yabby cafe on my way to Warrnambool and was pleasantly surprised by the charming atmosphere it exudes. The service was exceptional, with genuinely friendly staff who made me feel right at home. Engaging in conversations with the locals was a highlight, as I got to hear fascinating stories about growing up in a small town, a stark contrast to my city upbringing in Melbourne. It was heartwarming to share laughs and reminisce about shared experiences, like long hot days and admiring the local flora and fauna.
The cafe itself offers a delightful range of snacks, magazines, and other items, making it much more than just a coffee stop. I was particularly impressed by their inclusivity in offering options like chai and almond milk, catering to various dietary preferences even in remote areas where such choices are rare.
Overall, my experience at the Blue Yabby was incredibly pleasant, thanks to the warm and friendly atmosphere created by the staff. I definitely plan to stop by again on my future trips to Warrnambool. Supporting local businesses, especially in rural Victorian areas, is essential, as they truly form the backbone of our country's economy...
Read moreStopped by on our way back towards Geelong. Busy, bustling establishment, even in the middle of a weekday. Great to see plenty of locals in there, and we were warmly greeted by the staff.
Fantastic variety of items on the menu, and the quality was outstanding. We ordered a mix of burgers between our group, as well as wedges, and were certainly not disappointed. It took some time for our food to come, but with how busy it was, it's not something I could fault the staff for.
There's also the added convenience that the establishment doubles as a convenience store, and there are many items to be had here apart from great food, too. Not an enormous amount of seating available here, but there is a nice bit of parkland just across the street that suited well.
Overall, highly recommended if you're passing through Victoria and need a place to stop in for an affordable, hearty lunch with...
Read moreDo not come here. WORST customer service ever, such that they've motivated me to make my first Google review.
Came for lunch only to be greeted with a stern warning that our own food and drink cannot be consumed in the restaurant, presumably because I was carrying a soft esky bag. Despite my assurances and explanation that the bag contained baby food for our 9-month-old they carried on ranting about it. At no point did they apologise, only continued trying to justify this behaviour, saying that they've had other guests bring their own food in. I was just in total shock that any business would treat their customers, or anyone for that matter, with...
