From the outside, Deli Fresh Cafe looks like your average countryside independent supermarket. Once you go inside, it seems underwhelming with a limited choice of products (though there were an interesting range of local products like local jams) and curiously empty shelves, perhaps the result of having two supermarkets in a small town. However, the real gem is hidden in the back of the store, where the deli counter is. As well as having a small range of deli products (some nice looking cheeses), the counter serves handmade burgers and sandwiches. There is a great range of burgers, and the service is super friendly. I had a huge burger, The Midnight, which was great value with pretty much double everything. The beef patties were noticeably fresh and very good quality. Set at the front of a supermarket, the owner Peter was such a lovely guy to speak to and listen to his stories of local activities and even Lewis Carroll. Thoroughly recommended on all counts.
