Absolutely horrible service!||Came to this pub as an easy dinner as a group of eight, as we had just gone swimming in a nearby river. They made us sit outside (reasonable as some of us were in our wet bathers) and we ordered dinner probably twenty minutes to half an hour after we sat down. The owner had a grumpy attitude and said we could not have our food and drinks on the same tab even though the nice man at the bar said it would be fine. Then she asked us to hurry up ordering because there were a lot of people waiting. |Dinner took FOREVER to arrive. When it finally arrived (probably an hour after ordering) they forgot to bring our garlic bread and tomato sauce that we specifically asked for. Then the owner who was serving us said that we didn't order it even though we clearly double checked our order earlier. |When they finally brought out the sauce our kid who asked for it was already finished their meal! |The garlic bread was way too oil but it was ok. The food was average and the owner and her husband were extremely rude. When we asked about why it took so long the man said it wasn't busy and then he said it was busy and he was just clearly just making up a story. when we finally left, we were suggested not to come back again by the husband. |DO NOT...

We had a delightful New Years Eve meal at HVHO; it was a late reservation and they were very accommodating with giving us a table in a quiet indoor area. This quaint old pub has been tastefully decorated and retains it's historic spirit. Service was excellent and the food was pretty good.

LOVED the garlic bread (ended up ordering a second one) and we enjoyed salmon even though it was a tad over cooked. It is very homely style food - rustic, rough and ready, but fresh and tasty. There is a set menu with no deviations which is understandable considering the location, however tricky when dining out with picky teenagers (e.g. lunch menu listed hamburgers but wouldn't do one at dinner time - probably a good idea to add this to the children's menu). We were so full we didn't stay for dessert, but the menu read really well.

Limited beer on tap range, but a good selection of bottled beer - I loved having Guiness on Tap! It was a hot day and there is limited aircon/celing fans, and as we ate early there wasn't too many people to compete with so it wasn't too bad, but a full house maybe very warm.

I would have loved to stay longer to enjoy the atmosphere and band as there is a really fun vibe. Look forward to returning next time we're...

Guy at the bar with long hair and hat is super rude. We stopped at the ovens supercharger and wanted to use the restroom at the pub and the guy straightaway declined and asked us to buy something first. We bought a coffee and asked him for the direction to the restroom and he refused to tell us the direction saying everyone wanting to use the restroom should buy a coffee. His behaviour is completely unacceptable and rude towards people of color. Any one stopping at the ovens supercharger is highly discouraged to even approach this place and servers at the bar for any service !!!!

Great stop for a tasty meal at a reasonable price. Filled up quick so booking essential. Outdoor beer garden has a great heater and is not open to the elements so don't be scared off by the outdoor bookings. Food was served really quick and the whole menu is genuinely tasty. Ann essential stop now for me going up or coming home from the Alpine region. They have Tesla chargers out front too if you have a fancy Musk Mobile.

Highly recommended as the best place to eat by our local hosts. Happy to have something to eat on NYE. Nice pub, food is not great though. Salmon was ok, vegetables nuked within an inch of their life. Salt and Pepper Calamari best had as an entree size. Noodles were like tasteless string and green salad a little like pond weed. Average pub food at best.
