Jetty Rd Fish & Chips — Restaurant in Victoria

Jetty Road was recommended to us by someone who obviously doesn't know what quality fish and chips are, and what great customer service looks like. Our fish was sodden with oil and even with a crispy batter the oily mouth feel of the fish made for a sub optimal eating experience. Our chips were greasy, undercooked and mediocre at best, as were the potato cakes. The scallops that were ordered and paid for were missing as were half a dozen dim sims. The staff member looked and behaved as if they were bored stupid and the level of indifference was gobsmacking. There are other Fish and Chip establishments in the area, we suggest you try those before coming here and being thoroughly disappointed and we really have to question all of those 5 star reviews. I've been using Jetty Rd Fish & chip shop for 10 years and never had a bad feed yet. Its the best fish and chips on the Bellarine if not the best I've I've used. This place have nailed their batter. Their home made potatoe cakes are beautiful. People travel from Werribee just to get these potato cakes. I found all their food very tasty, nicely cooked and generous sized portions. They don't skimp in this shop and the chips are beautiful too. There are options for some food intolerances and lifestyles. The food is always fresh and the staff always very kind, polite and helpful. They are reasonably priced too. Its always my go to fish & chip shop. It is lucky that the other fish and chip shops in the area are somehow worse, i dont know how these shops are still open. The service is a disgrace, the young girls in there obviously dont wont to be there and make that well known, For the price is twice as dear as any other fish ans chip shop. Continuously stuffing up orders and when questioned about it they put the blame back on you while you still get charged for it. Burgers are not the best.
