Yesterday, Saturday the 4th of October I enjoyed the most beautiful lunch at Lake Moodemere with family. Even our 4 year old was impressed. Fortunately we rang about an hour before we intended to arrive as every table was booked for lunch. Such a popular spot. The venue offers sensational country hospitality and a wonderful garden setting to dine in. It was an absolute pleasure to be served by the family, and greeted by the wine makers in the tasting room.
I’m not sure who they have in the kitchen, but the food was fantastic with a very exciting and on trend menu. Offering small and large items as well as the option to build your own tasting plate which was great for sharing.
Thank you for the fantastic hospitality, we will absolutely be back.
Wanting to visit? Do your selves a favour, don’t call in here expecting a cafe environment with a 15min turn around. This is an experience. From the lake view, to the garden, the wines, the food, the free range chickens and dogs... this is really something worth taking the time to enjoy....

Kitchen has everything you need, bed is super comfy and lounge room includes games, which is a nice touch. Everything was clean and hosts were very helpful. Bathroom is spacious with bath and rainshower. Borrowed bikes from hosts to explore the nearby wineries at Cofield and Pfeiffer's and the Corowa whisky and chocolate factory, which was the highlight of our stay. You also have the option to get food from the restaurant delivered to eat at home. For my 30th birthday dinner (115 dollars) we had bread and local cultured butter, a bottle of red, roast lamb shoulder for two - just needed to be heated up in the oven, but was still lovely and tender - pumpkin and goats cheese salad and a beetroot salad as well as stickydate puddings for 2. Great winery, restaurant and accommodation. Thanks so much...
Read moreWe have had two long weekends at Harrys on Moodemere now and my only hesitation in giving a glowing review is that it will become more popular and will be harder for us to book our next stay. The accommodation is fantastic, so well considered and perfectly detailed and finished. Harry has shown off his skills as a builder and designer and it has resulted in a relaxing space that is much larger inside than it looks from the outside while remaining cosy and luxurious. The hot tub is a nice place sit with wine and watch the sunset over the lake. The location is the most beautiful of all Rutherglen wineries, nobody else has a view like this. Even if you don't stay, go there for lunch, enjoy the wine and food (have the lamb, its raised amongst the vines) and soak up the...
