Metung Country Club — Restaurant in Victoria

The Adrian, the new management team and greenskeeper have done an absolutely amazing job. The condition of the course is easily Melbourne Private course quality, not Peninsula Links style, but Kew or Green Acres level for sure. Its just not you're average 9 hole track. If you're a beginner its fine, you wont lose a box of balls. If you play safe you can score well, but if you want to go low the course genuinely gets tricky with well placed water hazards and sand. You need to be able to shape your shots or lob the drive over a corner. But the real beauty is its just in damn good knick every time I come here. Fairways, greens, and surrounds, all well above what a normal public course would offer. Plus sitting on the deck with a beer at the 19th hole is just as inviting. Dinner menu has upspecc'd significantly. The other beauty is its not inundated, you need to book, but you can get 18 done from 3:00pm and not too many others on the course. I didnt even get the chance to take photos, it looked so great and we couldn't wait to tuck in. It was so quiet while we were eating which is always a sign of good food. We had the beef bowl, spicy chicken, duck spring rolls with crispy noodle salad and the special of the day being salmon with couscous. I made a reservation weeks in advance for Mother’s Day. The week before Mother’s Day I get an email out of the blue saying that the restaurant has decided to pull their entire menu, replace it with pizzas only, and cancel all reservations.
