I am so frustrated with my experience at Millawa Kitchen. I ordered a decaf coffee yesterday, only to later realize that it was not decaf. At first, I even told my husband, "Wow, this tastes just like the real thing." And thatโs because it was the real thing. I only realized the mistake 30 minutes to an hour later when I started feeling the unmistakable effects of caffeineโracing heart, jitteriness, and ultimately, a completely sleepless night. My husband, who had only a few sips of my drink, was also affected, though I suffered even more because I had most of it.
We both gave up coffee a long time ago for health reasons, so we know exactly how caffeine affects us. There is no doubt in my mind that what we were served was not decaf. I know the cafรฉ will likely claim otherwise, but this was a serious mistakeโone that simply cannot happen.
Many people avoid caffeine for medical reasons, including heart conditions, anxiety disorders, pregnancy, migraines, and acid reflux, while others choose to for personal or religious reasons. Serving someone caffeine when they explicitly request decaf is not just carelessโitโs irresponsible.
I will never trust this place again, and I strongly urge anyone who needs a guaranteed decaf option to go elsewhere. This is not just about preference; for many people, itโs about...
ย ย ย Read moreI loved it! The food was quirky and delicious and lived up to the gourmet regions claim. Atmosphere was 5โญ's, away from any road noise and surrounded by greenery. Tucked away behind the Milawa Cheese Factory in a row of shops including a lovely gift shop (think quality leather handbags and all sorts of other goodies). You order in the shop which is bursting at the seams with goodies and take your numbered cutler bucket to your chosen table. None of their fresh breads were on display on the racks because they're well patronised by locals and visitors alike. In the short queue I talked to a local who swore the ham & cheese baguette was addictive ๐คฃ We had the most delicious versions of the standard menu items: a Benedict that had pulled pork and a polenta cake base; and a chili scrambled eggs in a croissant! ๐คฏ๐คฉ Coffee and Hot Chocolate were both delicious too. We sat on the open courtyard in the shade of trees on a hot day and loved looking back at the massive covered area full of eclectic seating areas and plants of all shapes & sizes, all draped in hanging vines for more shade. Staff were friendly and helpful but maybe a little short handed? It didn't impact our experience but they were definitely very busy. I would love to come back and I especially plan to with our...
ย ย ย Read moreWell it must of been 'grumpy sunday'..... My sister and I, as well as other patrons we're treated very rudely while here by staff. Two women in their late 50's, one with blonde hair the other with short brown hair and glasses. I realise hospitality can be stressful, but we came here for a delicious relaxing breakfast and walked away with neither. They need signs to advise customers of what their processes are, not to be physically pushed back and yelled at. The food was also a miss, serving only bought pastries. I ordered a soy latte and was presented with a cows milk coffee that resembled a fluffy cappuccino. I understand that despite being right next door to the cheese factory, this is a separate business. However, there is no need to treat paying customers with such distain for asking what breakfast options they offer. They don't even have a menu as such. This business can't last long. Their younger staff were spoken to terribly by the older women, who clearly had no care or interest in being there. I suggest avoiding this place and going straight to the cheese...
