We had the absolute pleasure of staying at the Mitta Pub, and it truly made our trip unforgettable. Nestled in the heart of the beautiful Mitta Valley, the location is simply stunning — peaceful, scenic, and the perfect place to unwind.

The pub itself has such a welcoming, homely feel. From the moment we arrived, we felt like locals. The atmosphere is laid-back and genuine, just like you’d hope for in a country pub, but with the added touch of real care and warmth. The food was outstanding — delicious, fresh, and made with love.

A very special shoutout to Kylie and her amazing team, who went above and beyond to make our stay extra special. Their hospitality was second to none — friendly, thoughtful, and full of country charm. Nothing was too much trouble, and their kindness left a lasting impression on us.

If you’re passing through or looking for a relaxed country escape with top-notch food and welcoming service, make sure you stop at the Mitta Pub. We’ll...

Set in the tiny but strong community of Mitta Mitta is the pub. It has been renovated over the part few years and I cannot recommend it enough. The drive to get there from Wodonga is spectacular and it is Gods country it is so magnificent. It is about an hours drive from Wodonga. The pub has an internal dining area and an outdoor dining area. The atmosphere is wonderful as at meal times it is always bustling with people. The outdoor area is just up from the river and a wonderful spot where you can go swimming. It is unique in that way and just marvellous in summer. In winter the wood fire burns and is fabulous in just a different way. There is a small number of rooms for accommodation. Not sure of the quality of those as I have not stayed there. Food is really really good and service is awesome. Highly recommend. I update this post as I went there on Fathers Day and good not as good quality...

Great food, pleasant interior. Unfortunately was significantly marred by a publican coming over to our table (friendly that he wanted to chat, downright rude that he wanted to deliver a sermon) and deciding to tell us, uninvited, about his specialised knowledge that disproved the field of climate science. Next time i'm travelling down the valley I'll go to eskdale or omeo, because for me it was about the same as if the bloke decided to ask if i have accepted jesus or if i know 'the truth' about vaccines. Also found it very objectionable about his boasting of cornering teenage (junior) empolyees into such dreadful conversations, so I personally will steer clear until I have assurances that poor junior employees/trainees are also spared of that kind of anti-science diatribe....

Have looked at Mitta Mitta on the map for a couple of years, heard the ride through to Omeo was fantastic. I also heard about this great little pub (it's actually not little) and I made sure that was my lunch spot. And man, was so happy that I did. Rode across from Jindabyne and was tired, hot and hungry. The Mitta pub did not disappoint, the bangers and mash were superb, the beer was cold, the service easy, friendly and welcoming. Clearly not their first rodeo, I'm sure plenty of bikes come through and if you're doing this ride consider this a mandatory stop. And there's fuel across the road, couldn't be better.

The atmosphere is relaxed but the three star rating is for the two following reasons based on my experience 1. Hearing servers making fun of guests is never pleasant so whilst standing at the bar to order hearing a server who had just completed serving a drink order mocking the person who he served to another server was nasty at best. 2. Serving food that is deconstructed I find lazy on the chef's/cook's part. Deconstructed food was a fad for a short time but it very quickly lost its appeal.
