Mona Cicchetti Bar — Restaurant in Victoria

Not one to take time to write negative reviews, but I was very disappointed with my experience here on Mother's Day. We were told our table was the barrel in the garden then completely ignored. No offers of drinks or menus given. I noted that the couple seated before us had drinks within 5 minutes.

There was a waiter showing all of the tables what the dessert special looked like. I said that it looked yummy and clarified if I had to order at the bar, he stated no and that he would take our order shortly.

After 30 minutes after arriving, my husband went to the bar to order drinks. He was asked what Rose he would like and made a point of saying he wasn't sure as we hadn't received menus. This wasn't commented on by the bar manager. When drinks were bought out, we were asked if we were going to have food. We mentioned that no one had taken our order yet and we haven't received menus. The manager seemed a bit frustrated with his staff but the service didn't improve.

When the food did arrive, staff didn't provide cutlery so we had to go to the bar to ask. Later realised after eating the prawns that we had no serviettes either. Instead of going back inside, we used our toddlers baby wipes.

No staff asked if we wanted to order more plates or dessert so we just left. By this time (3.30pm) the place was relatively quiet.

The food was very nice but experience ruined by poor service. I left hungry and shared a McDonalds with my husband on the way home.

Very poor experience. Firstly, the food was quite tasty, no issue there. Not huge servings but tasty. Our issue was the service! Table of 11 for a birthday. Forgot two orders and even after reminding - very very slow. Two people ate completely after everyone had finished. No apologies, nothing. It was the birthday girl most affected. Then the bill was a shambles. Was double billed for the late meals. Had 5% surcharge for Sunday, no real issues - but another $30 for extra charges (we didn’t byo).
