My husband and I had our wedding at Oneday Estate last weekend and I just dont feel that any review I write is going to do the location and the team the justice that they deserve, but I'm going to try anyway!
The Venue - Every aspect of this venue screams rustic romance. From the outdoor ceremony location amongst these gorgeous overhanging trees, to the indoor space with its magnificent timber, fairy lights, and disco ball, to the outdoor terrace and dining spaces that are right amongst the most lush vines you have ever laid eyes on. The fact that there are so many spaces to explore was perfect for our cocktail wedding and added such a relaxed yet polished feel for the setting of our wedding. We were able to utilise different areas of the property with our photographer as well so that we had some really unique shots. This isnt just your average winery. Oneday Estate is this seamless mix of country farm vibes and lush vineyards - it was more than we could have ever dreamed of, and to think last year I stumbled on this venue at the last minute by chance just reinforces how meant to be this place was for us.
The Team - The powerhouse wedding coordinator Sam is literally what dreams are made of. No task was to big or small to have her on the job and getting it done. She's a problem solver that makes you feel as if there wasn't even a problem in the first place. I expressed to Sam that my family doesn't drink alcohol and that I would love to offer them more than just soft drinks on the night, and together we curated two signature mocktails for the evening that were presented elegantly and beyond a hit with my family and our friends. In the months leading up to the wedding I basically harassed the poor woman constantly with essay like emails with questions and thoughts and she responded to everything so patiently and kindly which we so appreciated. The day before the wedding some of my family came to the venue to help set up flowers and what not and they were blown away by Sam's attitude and personality - safe to say we are honestly all a little obsessed with her! On the night, she was running around with my mum and aunty's helping them out with whatever they needed her for and by the end of it she was not only an honorary Persian, but we considered her part of the family. When I told Sam that I really wanted to have some shots with the cows on the property she came with us and the photographer and helped us get as close as we could to them and was our bloody hype queen when we were getting snapped which was a lot of fun. Sam was for sure the star player for us, but I also have to give so much love to the staff that were on site the day before who helped set up the venue to our specifications and for the team on the night who worked tirelessly to ensure everything went off smoothly. The owner of the property Sam was also a really fantastic guy - really laid back and relaxed (just like the entire team) and always super welcoming and helpful to us as well.
People told me in the lead up to the wedding that something always goes wrong or that there is always some stress out on the day - I can genuinely say that not a single thing went wrong in our opinion - sure some plans had to shift due to wind and what not, but Sam was there and just took care of it without prompting.
We had pretty much every guest go out of their way to praise this venue, not only for its aesthetic but for the team that was there on the day. Our guests said it was genuinely one of the funnest weddings they'd ever gone to - and to be honest (and not biased because it was my wedding lol) but it was the most fun I've had at a wedding too.
I obviously hope I don't have to get remarried lol but if I did I'd come back and do it all again right here.
I will never be able to thank you guys enough. And Michael and I look forward to coming down for a Sunday sesh at Oneday in the near future to have a little wedding nostalgia. Thank you, thank you,...
Read moreOverall lovely setting and good food, music and wine. Good for a Sunday lunch with friends but not great for large crowds or parties. I experienced many of the the same things as listed on other reviews (including shortage of plates and cutlery - luckily I read the reviews and brought my own) plus not a single member of staff said hello, goodby or thank you for our patronage (we spent a considerable amount of money on a party for 120 people). They were clearly short staffed for the number of people there. There were a number of other issues - too many to list - but the overall result was that I worked very hard to ensure our guests and my husband had a good time as his birthday party instead of getting to enjoying the party with him. Luckily they did. Also the ladies bathroom had half the lights working with only 3 soaked through hand towels for the entire venue as the hand dryer did not work. Itâs the critical non-essentials that make all the difference to the customer. Would I recommend it? If you are going with a few friends for a Sunday lunch then, yes, itâs quite pleasant. But if you are planning a large event, then...
Read moreWe attended a 80th on Sunday in a private function room. What a fabulous place. There is so much to take in as you walk in from the carpark the views of the vines and the outdoor function spaces were beautiful on this chilly but sunny afternoon. There were large tables and seating in different areas scattered around the property with large outdoor fires which people were gathering around as a guitarist sang some great tunes. The cellar door is so quirky and cool made from what looked like local recycled Timbers and iron with a roaring stone fire in the centre. Every where you looked something interesting caught your eye. It was worth just going for a look at the place but then there was the great service food wines and there own beer. The service was friendly, the pizzas and platters tasty. Well worth a visit on a Sunday the atmosphere is fantastic. Check website for...
