FAULTY TOWERS We were really looking forward to going there and had made an early booking. The greeting was very warm and made us feel welcome. The owner suggested a G&T for starters which was from a local distillery. On his recommendation, we all (4 of us) ordered. Unfortunately it wasn’t up to scratch and needs a bit of work. Heads and Tails. We had the duck with cherry sauce x 2. The duck skin was grey and not at all crispy and didn’t have the flavour one would expect. We had Brisket with red wine sauce. The flavour was great but the brisket needed at least another 90 minutes cooking. Lastly we had “Roasted”vegetables on cous cous. My partner asked if the vegetables were roasted and coloured. We were told yes. They looked like they were boiled. However the total flavour was quite good. Dessert was Limoncello Trifle. I’m not sure where the limoncello was, but the dessert was below par. To garnish, they used nasturtium flowers. An edible flower. However, something else was eating it before it was served to us. Yes…. a baby snail. Unfortunately when we told the owner, there was not an apology at all. He took the flower from me and threw it out the door and said that they soak them in water. Not a good end to a very average experience. The restaurant is quite dated, which is sad, given the views there are...

From the moment I walked in I knew we were somewhere special. From the vaulted wooden ceilings to the fresh cut flowers, the European flower oil paintings and the large windows onlooking the vine yard. The tomato soup with toasted rye was zingy and fresh, scallops in shell with Mango salsa and macadamia crumb was perfection, lamb cutlets was hearty and juicy and the whole baked trout with citrus salad was succulent and balanced.
Chris was the only man on the floor and didn't miss a beat. I have done my research of the area and this is by far the best restaurant inear Wilson's Prom. This place warmed my heart and soul, and could only be described as wholesome...
Read moreWe were looking forward to our dining experience here. Every review we read had great things to say about the food, the view and the staff. Our experience was not so great, unfortunately. We were hoping to sit near the window for an unobstructed view of the Prom, but as soon as my friend asked the staff (- he may be the owner - not sure) if we could sit near the window, his response was a stern 'no'. We first thought it was a joke and he'd explain why - 'sorry, those seats are reserved'; or, 'no, it'd be too tight for the six of you'. Nothing! That ruined our appetite and evening. The salmon and chicken we ordered were very good; the mushroom risotto okay; but the staff were so cold and uptight that we didn't feel welcome. I wouldn't recommend this...
