The Jack Bar & Bistro — Restaurant in Victoria

We had a stopover here in Robinvale and dined at The Jack Bar and Bistro. Tastefully decorated inside with an adequate number of selections from the menu. I will admit, I played it safe and had a Chicken Snitty with a side of vegetables, chips and pepper sauce. Hubby had the Chicken Fetticine. Well wow! Both options were fantastic. The side of vegetables consisted of a small cob of corn, broccoli, cauliflower, capsicum all chat grilled to perfection. The chicken Snitty was perfect and so fresh. What a pleasant surprise. The food was excellent - fresh, well cooked and flavoured. We had the Grilled Lamb cutlets, (perfectly cooked and very tender, full of flavour) with mash and veg, and the chicken parmigiana (veg and chips) which was light, tasty and so moist. The veggies were fresh, simply but perfectly cooked! We were sitting outside in the cold with our dog - everything was piping hot and good portions.

I just had meatballs and spaghetti, it was atrocious. The meatballs were tough as leather, they tasted like mass produced balls of rubber they were covered in a sauce that must have been a Legos pasta sauce from a jar. I’m shocked at how terrible this meal was. Maybe other meals are better, maybe I made the wrong choice, but whatever you do, if you have to eat here, don’t get...
