Given there are very few places on Philip Island to get gluten free food this is a bit of a hidden gem.

The majority of the pies available are gluten free. I can't attest to the prep but in the pie heater at least they are all on the top level so they are safe from cross contamination.

In terms of sweet treats I saw a sticky date cake. It was next to the other cakes and also had different coloured crumbs on it so it's high on the CC risk for a coeliac.

We ordered coffees, the milk was well textured and my friend enjoyed their oat latte. I found the flat white to be weak / quite milky (it was the same volume as the latte so... ). The matcha was nice but it was sweetened with honey so keep that in mind if you are vegan.

All coffees come with a tiny teddy on the spoon so make sure you let them know when ordering not to get that if you are gluten free. I just got myself a new spoon from the counter.

There's a small range of local produce and gifts in the store...

Very disappointing experience when my elderly mum visited this morning: When letting a staff member know that the customer use hand sanitiser was empty the staff became frustrated with her and suggested that she has her own sanitiser in her handbag... I know that keeping sanitiser bottles full can be tricky and frustrating. I'm sure it can be even more so in a popular boutique tourist shop like yours. I really do appreciate that you are providing them as a courtesy to your customer and you are trying to keep us that little bit safer by having it available for customers to use... But maybe next time when a person lets you know they are empty please don't put your...

Food and service are hit or miss here and some rude staff. The Rubens sandwich is the worst l ever had. When l pointed out to one of the staff picking up the plate, the meat l left on the plate had a lot of gristle and inedible overall a crap experience. The staff had a crack at me for mentioning this. Wow, not tacking on honest feedback is a problem here. Other staff later pointed out that they had a meat supplier quality issue. Also after waiting over 40 minutes for hot drinks we ordered, we ended up cancelling after they lost the order. Never again. Better off at The Waterboy cafe in Cowes just 10 minutes up the road with quality meals bigger/better menu and...

I discovered this little indie café whilst staying in the vicinity, by 10am there were already 10-15 people enjoying their morning coffee. I went inside and requested a table, a team member said help yourself and we'll be out. Only moments afterward more people began piling in, overwhelming the 4 staff members onsite. There is no table service here, grab a menu from inside and order at the counter. All staff were friendly and plates cleared from tables in good time, pricing is very reason reasonable. Nice outdoor seating area and a popular local takeaway caffeine spot.
