Heartwarming Hospitality in Dimboola! I was genuinely touched by the kindness and generosity of the Dimboola Lions Club at their Driver Reviver rest stop in Dimboola, Victoria. Stopping here on a long drive was an absolute delight – free tea, coffee, and Arnott’s biscuits were just what I needed to refresh and recharge. It’s rare to see such thoughtful community-driven initiatives these days. The volunteers were incredibly friendly and welcoming, taking the time to chat and make sure everyone felt comfortable. You can tell they genuinely care about road safety and traveller wellbeing. This rest area isn’t just a pit stop – it’s a perfect example of small-town hospitality. With shady trees, clean surroundings, and peaceful vibes, it felt more like a mini-retreat than a quick break. Hats off to the Dimboola Lions Club for everything they do – not just for travellers, but also for their ongoing support of the local community through programs like ‘Dimboola Dollars’. Truly a gold standard for all rest stops! Highly recommend stopping here if you're passing through – you’ll leave with a full cup and a warm heart.

This is the Lochiel rest stop, NOT the one listed on the map further West. Fabulous overnight stop with clean, flushing toilets. While I was there a council worker arrived and spent 2hrs cleaning the graffiti off the outside of the toilet block. I did a lovely run along the dirt track by the river. Lots of quiet places to bush camp if you don’t want the road noise

Coffee was bad! Instant that has been sitting in an urn all day. But can't complain about free. Still the place was a nice shady stop for toilets and a break. Lots of chairs and tables. Free biscuits for the whole family and cheap soft drinks for purchase. Lovely and friendly volunteers...
