Willaura Bakery — Restaurant in Victoria

If find the last review very hard to swallow ,( pardon the pun ) as a former resident and customer of the Willaura Bakery for 7 years I found their bread (and all other products) of the highest quality .. since moving north to retire in QLD I'm yet to find a bakery that can supply me with a product anywhere near their quality. The sheer numbers of folk that go out of their way to purchase from this establishment is amazing , where else can one see a goods train halt (whilst crossing lights and bells are activated ) and the driver and fireman make a mad dash to purchase a meal or see a daily stream of caravans and hungry truck drivers pull in to taste their fare. This bakery is more than just another shop it's an icon and has been for many years , let's hope new owners also get the current recipies for the well renowned pies , breads and annual hot cross buns , thoughts of the fine foods has me salivating on reflection. I find the previous post the first customer I've ever met or heard of with any sort of complaint and as a regular user of the net and social media have only heard and seen glowing reports of this very well known establishment . Willaura bakery on a bicycle tour was like an oasis in the desert. We came in early so we could get a feed and book it to Ararat before the heat of the day. The ladies behind the counter we're lovely. I ordered a mushroom pie and a pepper pie as well as a cheesecake and two lattes. Everything was delicious and we were given free tote bags as souvenirs!

Willaura Bakery was just amazing. It was probably the best curry pie I have ever had in my life. The curry flavour was nice and not overpowering. It tasted fresh and home-made which is exactly what you want. The pastry was awesome and overall it would disappoint nobody.

The citrus tart was lovely. Beautiful flavour, and crispy pastry. I was a bit concerned it would be overpowering, but the flavour was wonderful. Everything just looked amazing in the shop so it was hard to pick just one thing.

The service was amazing. Such lovely people and very helpful. I will definitely be back...
