Wongs Fish N Chips — Restaurant in Walgett

This review has taken me a lot of thought. Before going to Wongs, I read the reviews and knew the mixed opinions. I wanted to give the place a chance. Unfortunately, the food was lousy, the place had a bad smell and not very clean. I think they get very bad reviews when the frying oil is old and stale and good reviews perhaps on the few occasions when the oil is changed. I went there when the oil was dirty and stale. Food was horrible. All part of the travel experience, but I will never go back! ...

Won’t even give this place a star if I could. The people that work here are great and respectful, However most of the food here tastes like grease and the chips always taste like filthy oil. The burgers are usually great but everything else I wouldn’t recommend. Last night my Pop went and bought a large chips with chicken salt. Currently at 9:52am I’ve vomited that meal up twice. No offence to the workers here, good people.. but change your oil please and avoid this...

The Chicken Snack Pack comes with chips, a drink, and a single piece of crumbed fried chicken that was huge and tasty. Staff aren't into McDonalds customer service banter :-) and the old shop looks like it's shut even when it's open. Loved the zJohn Murray murals on both sides of the building. Enjoy...
