We were on the way to Kalbarri from Perth and decided to stop here for a late lunch. It was a bit far from everything and we weren't sure if we had gotten lost. We finally reached the restaurant by noticing a metal pig on a post by the road. We were greeted by flies as we walked towards the restaurant and were a bit concerned as it looked like most of the dining facilities were outside. The flies weren't as annoying at the tables but there were a few persistent ones. The breeze probably helped. We were able to get a table but had to order quickly as they were closing for the afternoon. The menu had lots of interesting items but we ended up sharing the whole barnyard platter. The food was amazing. All the items were delicious and really tasty. The pulled pork and pork belly were my favourites with the fried chicken coming really close behind them. The platter was huge and was able to feed 4 of us easily. The maple mac n cheese was also quite tasty, mac n cheese topped with delicious and sweet pork belly. I did notice that we didn't get any rids so something to try for next time. Inside they also had a cabinet full of cheesecake with varying flavours. They also had a playground to the side and a fair bit of grassy space for kids to run around in. There is also a window by the smoking house so you can watch them cook. Definitely worth a stop if you are close to Geraldton. It is a bit of a trip but well worth it with really tasty food.

My wife picked this out as a small trip out of Geraldton, where we were staying. The location is about half an hour drive out of Geraldton, and quite a nice scenic drive. The Burnt Barrel is setup alongside a working farm I believe, with vineyard alongside the outside seating area providing a picturesque backdrop. The service was good, friendly and quick. The food as expected American style smoker, arrived quickly, and was... fine. Unfortunately for me this was the disappointment, that it was fine and not great. The ribs were a little dry, and didn't seem to hold the flavour as much as I had hoped, the coleslaw a little tired and bread (made on site) dry, the chicken wings not finger licking good. The dirty fries were nice, Mac n cheese ok. The cocktail looked good, but again disappointed in taste, the ginger beer brewed on site was again ok but not great - slightly too sweet, and slight chemical aftertaste. The hot sauce sounded interesting but wasn't an option with the rib combo I ordered, and you had to pay as an extra to get it. The positive though were the cakes which were very nice - white chocolate and Oreo cheesecake and caramel apple pie were very yummy. Overall seems like a nice place, with good ideas for the food and the way it has been setup but food and drink for me anyway, weren't worth the drive out there.

Awesome! Delicious food. Burnt ends are phenomenal. We shared the main with two sides and couldn't eat it all. Enormous portions. Mac and cheese was f*n amazing. Like dang. Great atmosphere with live music on Sunday. Ginger beer is delish. Did find customer service a little hit and miss. Girl who sat us was incredibly friendly and patient but another server was a little tougher - overanunciating and didn't let us order ice on the side of the drink which I found odd. The flies are also a lot. I would recommend having a spritz of Bushman's to avoid the swatting. But otherwise is all part of it. Would love to hang out here for a cruisy afternoon and ginger beer flowing. Great spot if in the area.

Very disappointed and disgusted tonight! Had family up from Perth, so we decided to go to the BB and enjoy the fire pit etc. No fire pit - according to Ash it was too hard for her to light!!! 🤔🤦‍♀️. Then apparently pizza is not on the menu on Friday night. Nowhere on their website or fb page warns the customer of that. As pizza was a recommendation from a friend we were looking forward to eating it. The weather is freezing and the only heat was the slow combustion at the counter for the staff! No ambience, no friendly staff and certainly none of the expected food experience. Just a cold, miserable place with arrogant, couldn't be bothered staff who were too tired from the lunch shift!!! We left and went to the Nabawa Tavern and enjoyed awesome food, large serves, cheaper prices, a warm room and wonderful, helpful and friendly staff! Lift your game BB!!! Perth family mot impressed and word travels fast. FURTHER TO YOUR RESPONSE. It might be on your menu IN THE RESTAURANT but not online. It is a long drive from Geraldton to find out a menu item is unavailable. Some people and possibly a lot more people have a strict budget these days. A meal out is a luxury and a treat which is saved for money wise. Pizza might be the only item which was affordable??? The experience of fire pit etc was part of the treat. Your response shows just how arrogant you are. Considering you and your staff just stood together down the end with the fire and left us at the other end of the room cold with only one small heater on a stand. No apologies, no asking if we were comfortable, no customer service at all. Shame on you for spoiling what was meant to be a special night out. Thank goodness for the NABAWA TAVERN!!! They...
