We came here hoping to enjoy a nice lunch, but ended up spending $53 for two people, and that’s without drinks, which felt overpriced. We tried the Chicken Burger and the Smoke Shack Burger. The Chicken Burger was dry, and the Smoke Shack Burger lacked any smoky flavor, with an overpowering amount of sauce. The meat patty had an odd, chemical taste. We also ordered chips for $10, expecting something special for that price, but they were disappointing and didn’t live up to expectations. While we understand that prices are rising, we do expect better quality for what we paid. We usually don’t complain about food, but we won’t be returning for the meals. On a positive note, the service was quick . The chips weren’t very large, and the burgers didn’t come with any chips , so I’m glad I ordered them separately.

Update: We requested a refund, but the manager declined, citing the following reasons: 1) Customers had ordered and enjoyed the burgers throughout the day. 2) The chips aren't included with the burger. 3) If we didn’t like any of the sauces on the burger, they could be removed. She also offered us complimentary ice cream, which we declined, as the price of the ice cream didn’t make up for the poor value of the meal. The manager suggested the chef could prepare a new meat patty to address the chemical taste we experienced.

However, we were never informed that the chips weren’t included, nor is this stated anywhere on the menu. As first-time customers, we had no way of knowing which sauces would best complement the burger. Ultimately, we feel these were weak excuses for not...

My husband got violently sick with food poisoning from the chicken nuggets here last week (2/1). We have confidently narrowed it down to this as it was the only thing different he had eaten to me that day. He is not someone who usually gets sick or does not have any allergies. I returned the following day to politely let them know, given the nuggets were on the child menu I could only imagine how sick they could make a child if they took down a grown man as they did. Unfortunately I spoke with a woman staff member who was very dismissive claiming she also ate nuggets the previous day, and despite already saying he has no allergies she told me to take him to a doctor to check for allergies… I understand things can go wrong in storage, or on transit to the store but the defensiveness and dismissive response makes me question their care and handling more so. Beware, he has never been sick like this in his whole life. I am genuinely surprised there hasn’t been more people with a similar outcome that day.

We loved this place for many reasons. We started with free tasting in the sauces section. So many varied and delightful tastes. It was hard to chose which few to buy, because you cannot take them all. Then we moved into the icecream and burger area, where we read the wall of stickers, written by customers. So many indicated that you could taste the flavour of the icecream without being overpowered which by the sweetness. We were very impressed with the size of the icecream serving and the flavours we had. The cone even tasted great. As it was mid morning, and each of us, had devoured a large double cone of icecream, we had to come back the next day to have the burger, which proved to be just as exceptional as the icecream. The pattie was cooked to perfection, being tasty and juicy while maintaining it's integrity until the end. The sauce came from their selection, the salad was fresh, they make their own buns and you could eat it by hand as it was big enough for a meal but not so big you couldn't get your mouth around it.
