Update: I see a number of reviews in the last few months identify the food on offer still being of low quality for the price. So although management wrote a lengthy reply to my original review, sadly they’ve done little to nothing about improving the quality of the food. It just sounds like lip service. How disappointing.

Dined here for family lunch, but was disappointed in the quality of food now. When I dined here a few years ago, the menu had quite a sophisticated variety of dishes for lunch. Now it seems they’ve opted for cheap pub main meals, and instead focusing on a few more complex share plates. Today the Kolsch fish(Gummy Shark) and chips was still very nice, but the $28 cheeseburger was quite average with little filling and overcooked chips. The bun was not toasted and had no flavour. It was no more satisfying than a cheeseburger from McDonalds except the beef patty was hot! The pizzas are no different or better than any other wood fired pizza joint… 2-3 toppings on a base with lean sauce and cheese is not gourmet. Sadly the menu at Eagle Bay has become cheap basic pub style with inflated prices. In comparison, the mains menu offered at Colonial Brewing Co in Margaret River although similar, still had more sophisticated dishes and catered to a wider variety of tastes, with pricing that reflected the menu complexity. It is worth noting however the beers at Eagle Bay have retained their quality. However, overall, as it seems to be the case with many WA breweries now, Eagle Bay are now focusing on beer service and only offering cheap pub food as an add on but at inflated restaurant prices. Maybe these breweries think food is just to help wash the beer down. That’s fine, but adjust your prices accordingly so that real diners know what to expect or can choose to dine elsewhere if they’re after more than just a...

This is only my second time coming here in a couple of years and, hand on heart, I was keen to have this second visit. Two years on and there has been a bit of streamlining to the ordering of food which has made things easier.

As well as ordering straight from the bar you can use the scan system for your food order. I ended up doing my order from the bar as the online order system didn't have the option to order drinks for lunch (I suspect that would be so ID can be checked if necessary). There was a bit of a queue to order lunch but they soon had three tills running and the staff work exceptionally well together to get things done.

So, the service is outstanding.....end of story.

The food? Well I had ordered the beef burger again as it was so good last time and it was sensational yet again. This time I had the added pickles which surprised me as it came in a little side bowl, but it was a great addition to an already brilliant Burger. Served up with chips it's a great meal and with a good brew, it's an even better meal.

The beer choices are great and I love the stout. Their stout is luscious, seriously luscious, and it goes great with the Burger. At 5.5% it's a ripper but a point won't get you too silly. I also decided to try their Eagle Bay Black and Tannin. Now, that bad boy is only served as a 345ml (from memory) but it packs a punch at 7.9%. At first I was a bit dubious of the sweet start and roasted, Tannin finish but it's a nice drop. So if a stout is too heavy for you and you prefer XPA's and the like then this just might get you enjoying black beers as this is the best of both worlds.

So, Eagle Bay BC is a great choice.....but you might want to book ahead to ensure that you'll get a table as...

Very disappointed with the changes that have been made to the menu and the service level after our visit on the weekend, obviously an attempt to save money, but you've now lost mine for good. Menu is extremely basic now, cheeseburger for $28 with a dry overcooked patty, cheese, pickles and not much else, couldn't even toast the bun! Pizza, chicken, chili and nap sauce, with a bit of cheese. Honestly, we can all do better at home. And no desserts except for a tub of ice cream? Service, I used to rave to all that would listen about how switched on the staff are. All using tablets for ordering and looking after their designated tables/sections. Finish a drink, they're right there to order you another one. Finish a share plate, cleared almost immediately. Now you need to go up to the bar to wait in line and order your food and drinks. At least the food is still brought to the table, albeit 6 minutes apart for only 4 meals. 1 cheeseburger and chorizo share, then we waited 6 minutes for the other cheeseburger and pizza. It was a 2 o'clock seating, so not terribly busy. Staff are very casually dressed, hair all over the place, all with tea towels hanging out of their pockets for the hot pizza trays. Looks incredibly tacky. 2 years ago I did a review and wanted to 8 stars out of 5, it was that good, even purchased a Beer Glass and T Shirt from their merch stand. Now I'll be too embarrassed to wear it. Such a shame to see something so great, in a spectacular venue, turn so bad in such a short time. PS. It was 1 only order for 4 people, which I alone went and ordered and paid for. So certainly shouldn't have been 2 separate dockets...

Stopped by for lunch before our drive back to Perth. Love the open concept, lots of natural bright light and fresh sw air, and we were lucky to get a table inside as the wind really started to pick up after we sat down. The staff were really friendly and welcoming, it’s pub style ordering at the counter but the food is delivered to the table. They don’t have cider so I decided to get the classic beer paddle which was a great decision, there wasn’t really a beer I didn’t like on there but my favourites ware the cocao stout and the kolsch and my least were the pale ale and the IPL - still very drinkable though but more on the bitter side than we were expecting. I ordered the lamb shoulder, and the meat was so tender and well seasoned, I was a little surprised the spiced eggplant was chilled like a relish as it made the overall dish a bit cold. The portion size was very decent for the price, there was a lot of lamb and I was stuffed by the end I couldn’t finish the roasted spuds. Hubs said the burger was the best he had on our trip but the chips were really ordinary. The best part is I was saying to my hubby wouldn’t it be great they sold a mixed case of their beer - well they do! You can make your own mixed beer cube in the shop by the entrance, we chose the kolsch, wheatbelt lager, XPA (those bright passion fruit & pineapple flavours are so refreshing) and of course the cocao stout.

What a delightful lunch I've had here. The view is amazing and relaxing, so much greenery, a fresh breeze... just on the horizon you can see the lighthouse and the sea. Service was great, staff members were friendly, helpful and acomodating of my special requirements (aka super fussy eater), and checked in on us at just the right frquency. For food, I had the burger. The bread had a nice sweet aftertaste and a yummy border crust as the insdes were toasted. The patty had a clear smokyness to it, and it was perfectly done. Chips were crispy and not oily. We tried the Tokyo Crisps too, they were quite different. The beer was pretty good too, my partner tells me. The only thing perhaps negative I'd have to say is that the salt refuses to leave the salt shaker because the rocks are a bit too big for the holes. The little grass area was full of people enjoying the sun and the breeze, and staff was nice enough to take their drinks to the grass. A bunch of kids were rolling down the little hill, adding a bit of cuteness and laughter to the family friendly, relaxed feel of the place. All in all, totally worth the 1h11 min we drove to eat here. Will definitely return. Edit: having returned, I've happily discovered they use toilet paper that comes wrapped in paper, not plastic♻️ the toilets are big and clean too.
