Hippo Lakes — Restaurant in Western Australia

Hippo Lakes is a real hidden gem. It's located a bit outside of town, but it's well worth the drive. The staff is very welcoming. There is a good chance that you'll meet the owner since she works there. All their cakes are absolutely delicious. They also have a breakfast and a lunch menu. There are inside and outside sitting areas. Outside, you have the choice between the picnic tables or the covered area.

It's a good place to go with kids since there is a big green space for them to run. You can also have a look at the lake that is a bit further. There are many activities for kids like colouring books, puzzles, giant Jenga.

The bathrooms are always very clean and there's a changing table.

There's a little shop there with lots of gorgeous little things.

Amazing food, amazing location, hidden little gem that everyone should visit. We have been telling all our friends about this place, it was such an amazing visit! We ordered a few different things on their menu, and were absolutely impressed by all of it, the beef burger was made with love, and it's probably the best one we have had to this day! They have a little shop attached where they sell all sorts of home made goodies, alot of South African recipes of condiments available, like a Spicy chutney that was to die for, so we took a big jar home! Our rather large group (47 of us) got together for our Christmas party at Hippo Lakes last weekend. What an outstanding venue. The service from Elizabeth and her team was outstanding. We had a pre arranged menu and had pre ordered, all of us had a beautiful lunch in front of us with 15 minutes of being seated. These guys go above and beyond and their service and food is second to none. Thank you Hippo Lakes fur making our day so special.
