Kalbarri Skywalk Cafe — Restaurant in Western Australia

Not a great experience unfortunately. The girl serving was unfriendly, didn’t smile once and could do with a lesson in customer service. I ordered the frittata and asked if it was possible to have salad with it, to which she simply said ‘no’, not that they don’t have any or any other explanation, just ‘no’. After ordering there was no thank you and she simply turned around and started getting food out of the display without saying anything, I didn’t know if I was meant to wait or if it would be brought over to the table 🤷‍♀️. A simply sentence of ‘I’ll just get your food and we’ll call out when drinks are ready’ would have made it more pleasant. When our drinks were called, my tea had no milk with it so I had to return to the counter again to get it. I was never asked if I wanted milk so assumed it would be served with milk. If I could give 0 stars I would. We attended on the 29 June 2022 and arrived around 9am. If we were not the first customers of the day we were close to. My husband and 2 boys entered and waited to be served but the lady on duty was too busy on a personal call. My family would have been happy to wait had she simply acknowledged our existence. Instead she completely ignored us for at least 10 minutes until we left. We went back to try again about half an hour later when she sheepishly acknowledged our presence. The worst however was yet to come when A child accidentally knocked over a glass drink bottle and the mum asked for the attendee for assistance in cleaning up the mess. The staff member angrily and wordlessly swept up the glass and went inside slamming the dust pan and brush in the bin several times, slammed the door, and bifold windows which were not closing properly in the wind. All information available everwhere says closes 3pm daily. Drove all the way out to have afternoon tea as want to patronise local businesses post cyclone. While the skywalk is amazing we've seen it many times so wasn't our main reason for the drive. Small hand written sign on door saying nothing but 2pm. Someone inside saw us looking at sign & came to door to tell us "decided to close at 2pm today as we're flying out! I asked why they hadn't updated their online and Visitor info to that effect - reply - "sorry didn't think of that, just want to get to Geraldton airport " one would presume that means it won't be open in coming days either but you won't know that unless you drive out there.
