La Fattoria is the crown jewel of the Perth Hills. Tucked away at the end of Merrivale Road, the setting is what everyone envisions when they think Italian Vineyard in Perth.

Arriving at La Fattoria, we were shown to our table, tucked away in the corner with a jaw-dropping view over the orchard and vineyard, extremely romantic for my partner and I! Our table host Jade took the time to explain how the Nonna’s Family Table works, and reinforced that there is no pressure or rush to leave, the table is ours for the afternoon with nobody booked afterwards.

We were then presented our wine list, showcasing every variety that La Fattoria offers. The most difficult decision you’ll have all afternoon is which 5 of the incredible varieties you wish to have for your tasting session!

We settled on the 2019 Aged Sparkling Vermentino (my personal favourite - get in before it’s all gone), 2022 Vermentino, 2023 Fiano, 2023 Brachetto Nouveau, and 2022 Montepulciano.

During our wine tasting, owner Eric came over and introduced himself. He talked about the different wines we had selected, the region and climate they’re from, and all the details of their taste and food pairings all with flair and humour, no boring wine lessons here!!

Following the wine tasting, our 5 delicious courses arrived. Jade and Eric made sure we were well looked after, our glasses topped up with our favourites from the tasting, and our plates full - not to mention an explanation of each course! Lunch at La Fattoria really is an experience! Both were exceptionally personable, funny, but not overbearing, the perfect level of service. We definitely felt like we were a part of the family!

Owner, cook, and menu inventor Lucy also stopped by our table to introduce herself, talk about all the dishes that were being served, and the inspiration behind each on the Spring Menu. She also gave us a sneak preview of what to expect on the summer menu, and I can already say confidently we will be back!! Even with the restaurant fully booked, the level of care and attention to detail of every staff member is obvious! Food, wine and service really is their life and passion!

On our way out, all of the staff were thankful for us coming, and it felt like we were leaving Nonna’s house after a big family dinner. I can’t finish this review without a shoutout to Geordie (daughter of Eric and Lucy), who’s impeccable eye is responsible for the immaculate food presentation; Kylie, who’s Lemon Olive Oil cake was to die for; and Millie, the family dog who roams the tables, saying hello to everyone and adding to the homely feel.

Overall, our experience was unforgettable. This is no ordinary restaurant. This isn’t another vineyard in the hills you go to and forget a week later, La Fattoria truly is an experience that will...

We found this wonderful place 18 months ago and could only manage coffee and delicious cake on that visit as they were so busy. But Eric took the time to introduce us to La Fattoria and provide us a wonderful wine tasting and we promised to be back. We’ll fast forward 18 months to June 8th 2024 and we fulfilled our promise to Eric. We booked from Melbourne with multiple calls to Lucy trying to arrange the most suitable date while trying to organise friends in Perth at the same time. Thank you Lucy for being so patient with me. Leaving the above would be enough for a 5 star review but I’m far from finished . On the day to state we were excited would be an understatement as this had been 18 months in the making. On arrival we were greeted by Eric in the new cellar door, love the new space guys, but we were heading to the restaurant as each booking receives a personalised tasting for all guest at there table. Lucy dropped by to introduce her self and set the afternoon up and then all of suddenly it was 5pm and time to leave. Yes you will have to visit and fill in the 5 star void for yourself and you won’t be...

Just like coming home to Nanna's cooking , a hidden gem in the Pickering Brook! All the lovely reviews are absolutely true , exceptional service with utter professionalism . Eric and Lucy are providing classy long lunches with views to die for . Not that the journey is bad , the area with all its bucolic charm and numerous cafes and orchards and wineries and a Cidery around. La Fattoria is a one stop shop though with all services provided, including tastings.Exquisite wines , both white and red and liqueurs which are all quaffable on their own but will pair with your favourite foods and desserts -We tried a liqueur with fig leaves with our Hazelnut Biscotti and poached pears dessert and it was a marriage made in heaven. Let them take you on a gastronomical adventure; it is all so peaceful and unrushed though over a few hours! Thanks so much for having us and we look forward to many more visits through the changing...

This delightful gem of a trattoria offers a Nonna's Family Table Experience, with a set menu comprising seasonal dishes. The setting is absolutely idyllic- it is like visiting a rustic Sicilian home, complete with a friendly family dog. To get to our table, we had to walk through a packing shed. We were seated outdoors, under heaters, overlooking the vineyard. The service was attentive and the food was delicious. The relaxed experience began with the opportunity to taste a range of Italian-style wines. We had the four course set menu- chisciol, antipasto, baked orange marsala chicken and an apple-walnut budino. Each dish was beautifully executed and accompanied by an explanation of its background or ingredients. Our waiter timed the serving of the courses so that we could take a stroll in between the mains and the dessert. Highly recommended!
