Malibu Fish n Chips — Restaurant in Western Australia

What used to be a lovely fish and chip shop now unfortunately is owned by Malibu fresh and the service has dramatically dropped along with a price increase and a decrease in portion size. Not to mention a change in the type of chips and what seems to be a different fish supplier also . What used to be a $10 snapper ans chips that fed my son and I, is now $12 and would only just feed myself. Disappointing to say the least, it’s doesn’t seem like the old staff were retained either, they were just so wonderful and happy , and ran the shop so well. Have been 3x time since new ownership and the service has just dwindled so much that I don’t think we will be back and I can’t at all recommend them as highly recommended as they were to me 2yrs ago. Goes to show you should never mess with something that’s working and flows so well.

fish is hard , gluey & overchewy , kinda like the chips which are definetly stale & wouldnt be surprised if reheated yesterdays seconds? no idea how the food & service got so bad , perhaps because i asked for pink salt. ? wouldve bought it for them if werent so rude to me . n2m price gone up & quality far down . when first went , was only $10 & actually snapper & chips were good too. , last few times very subpar & after tonights experience i wont be going back there again. pink salt is only the difference between sucking ur face in & actually enjoying the meal with extra minerals . ofc it wont help with other obvious problems poor service , prep, oil & ingtedients . starvin so almost finished the fish , barely half chips , belly already grumblin at me for goin...

Unfortunately this place has declined in recent months. Have been a regular for a while but the order of Red Spot Emperor this evening was very unpleasant. The texture, smell and taste was not like Red Spot at all. We called back to check our order was correct and were assured it was.... If this is true I'd suggest changing your supplier! Even the chips are different now. Skinnier and lots of black dots! They were also soggy and practically cold this evening too. After yet another disappointing meal we won't be back and I wouldn't recommend it anymore. It's a shame but there is only so many times hoping for improvement and not getting them and tonight was...
