I had booked online to have lunch indoors as it was a hot day but we were seated in the outdoor verandah part. No-one was seated inside. It was ok but because the seats were just benches I got a sore back after a while. No-one explained about how to order drinks until we asked for some when we ordered our meal. You have to order them separately from the indoor counter. The sparkling wine was great. We ordered the shared chacuterie plate. There was a good variety and volume of cheeses, meats, fruits and bread. The only miss' were the 2 dips (hummus and ?) as they were cold and watery. Hummus should be a lot thicker. They were also lacking lemon and salt flavours. The desserts were lovely. The service was OK, just inexperienced, which is a problem at this time of year but they will learn. After lunch I went for a wine tasting. It is in a small room which was very crowded. I managed to taste a couple of wines before some other guest' bumped me out of the way and so I left with a 6 pack of 2 favourites. My favourite is the Velvet Rose. It would have been nice to have the wine tasting in the indoor cafe part given how crowded the other side of...

The Nookery and Woody Nook Winery have been a favourite of ours for years and we always go there for lunch when in the Margaret River area. Our last visit was in April and we once again enjoyed the tasting plate which has always contained a wide range of tasty morsels, a feast for 2! We were therefore very disappointed yesterday when we received a much smaller tasting plate (for the large plate price) which contained a much reduced selection of meats and no cracker biscuits, undercooked squid which was inedible. We asked for more bread to be able to eat with the cheeses and dips. It seems the Nookery has sacrificed value for economy and service to large groups which is a further disappointment. We always usually buy at least one carton of wine, as the winery has always had a special on when we visited. This time, however, there were no specials available so we just purchased a couple of bottles, adding to our...

Had a table booked on Sunday 31st Dec 2023 for our family of five. We had a nice three course meal, this particular visit to the Nookery was a great experience. Unfortunately we went back to the Nookery for lunch two days later and things weren’t so pleasurable. My wife’s meal was forgotten, the service staff apologised and stated another steak sandwich would be cooked as quickly as possible. A steak sandwich was delivered to the neighbouring table and sat for five minutes, an English member of the service staff realised they had brought it to the wrong table and proceeded to place it in front of my wife with no apology. The rest of the table had finished with their meals at this point. Two of the service staff joked amongst themselves concerning their forgetfulness. We have visited the Nookery numerous times over the past ten years, it has never been the best for service, however on this occasion we felt very...

Took a chance on the 4.7 review and tried Nookery Cafe. The set up looked very inviting but unfortunately, the heavy rain that poured restricted our wonders outside. Luckily we got there earlier enough to sit inside. There was undercover tables but you got wet. Bitterly disappointed with our meal though. Roast Chicken was dry and the sauce it was sitting on was nothing special. Served with hard, flavourless peas and hard rocks of chorizo. Barramundi was dry also, the accompanying sides weren't too bad. Don't often get food envy, but other tables looked a lot better than mine.

Wonderful place. The food was excellent and the service even more so. The staff made us feel so welcome, coming up to us for a chat and to say hello... Insisting we try the wines to be sure we only ordered what we liked. It has been a long time since we have had this kind of interaction with staff of a restaurant! Thank you for being so welcoming! We had the scallops and the duck. I really can't decide which was better... 😋 The ice creams were interesting too... Wow, I didn't know basil ice cream would taste that good! 😂

The food here is so great! Healthy options, generous serving size, perfectly cooked, well seasoned. We had the lamb pie which was delicious and came with a bunch of roast veggies on the side (brocolini sautéed in garlic was to die for), and we had the scallops which came in a salad with bacon and potatoes. Scallops were perfectly cooked (seared but still soft!). The steak sandwich looked great, as did pasta and everything else! Will be coming back. Loved it! Also service was flawless, and the espresso was tasty!
