DO NOT EAT HERE My friends and I made a booking for this restaurant last night at 7pm, we arrived at 7:07 (late yes but the restaurant was not busy at all, 2 other tables besides us) upon arrival we were greeted by a polite French waiter who showed us to our seats, we then sat for 15 minutes before the waiter came towards us with the menus, seating a couple in the process of making his way over to us and then giving them some of the menus intended for our table so then we ended up sharing menus which is fine but we had waited 15 minutes for those menus. 10 minutes after we saw the same waiter take the order of the couple who had gotten there 15 minutes after us. We waited a while before the waiter came over and insisted heâd be back in a minute or less to take our order before proceeding to take a very long time to come back, finally when he arrived back at the table his response to someone wanting to order the parmigiana was âhas no one told you?â And then pausing before saying they had run out. A member of the table asked what the risotto special was and he didnât know so went to ask and we then waited another five minutes to see that he had gone off to complete other tasks and was using the pos/iPad system at the front. I approached him to let him know that we were leaving as one of the girls on the table was picky and wouldnât eat anything else on the menu besides the parmi and we had been waiting 50 minutes just to order our food (didnât even get a drink order or table water) and we were hungry and wanted to go elsewhere. He asked me to explain this to his manager who was a lady, I began by telling her about the menu issue which was not the main issue to us but I didnât want to insult their service she immediately became defensive and said âwhy didnât you read the menu onlineâ like that is a common thing for many people to do and I explained that even though they did the parmi was on the menu but not available. She then proceeded to say âso there is 10 of you and not one of you can find something on the menu youâd likeâ which makes sense so I explained to her that we wanted to cater to the group which was why we wanted to go elsewhere and then added that we had been waiting 50 minutes to order to which she replied with they have a staffing shortage (no apology in this just an excuse) and that we had arrived late to our reservation. I was gobsmacked at the conversation with this lady and instead of trying to explain that this is an issue and going back and forth with her demonising us as the customers just simply decided to tell her we were going to leave and thanked them for their time. Her tone was sarcastic, sharp and volatile, I understand if she didnât agree with me but that is no way to speak to a customer who gave the restaurant a good chance. Honest waste of time, you can tell the service is extremely unorganised and rude manager/ potentially the owner. Following this incident, my friends card who made the reservation was CHARGED $100 for a âno showâ. We were gobsmacked. Three weeks later, after calling three times to follow up and request a refund, today I was met with extremely rude customer service over the phone. The lady retold the incident completely incorrectly to me over the phone, called me a liar and refused a refund. Do not support...
Read moreHad the misfortune to come here last week just before 12 noon. We had been looking forward to trying the new restaurant with the interesting menu. There was only one table occupied when we arrived. We ordered drinks and food and waited, and waited. There was only one server on the floor for lunch, strange for this being school holidays in one of WAâs major holiday destinations. As we waited over the next 20 minutes watching as the tables filled up, and emptied just as fast. We saw 4 tables, totalling 11 people get up and leave after waiting too long to be served. The grey-haired lady as mentioned in other posts was at the till doing ???? while the tables went unattended. She couldnât have been doing accounts as no one had even finished a meal at this time? We got our entrĂ©e in a bit longer than fair time seeing there had been no one else there when we made our order, AND at least one (was the other waiting to be brought out?) of the mains also came. We sent the mains back for now. Once finished we waited, and waited for our mains. We watched 4 tables that had come in after us received their meals, other tables fill and go due to being unattended. We were without drinks for way too long. The poor server was running as best she could with no help, almost in tears saying she was so embarrassed. People at the table next to us cancelled their food as it was taking too long, and when doing so at the till they advised the lady at the till she should be helping. The last straw for us was when we saw a meal the same as one of ours (we were a table of 2) was served to another table. We had just waited too long .... When going to the till to pay and cancel meals, our food turned up ⊠some 50 minutes after we had walked into the then almost empty restaurant - sorry too late. We were told by the lady ours was later than the other one we saw served, as we had had entrees. I pointed out we had finished our entrees and had been in the restraint œ hour before the other table had even arrived. She also told us the problem was people were turning up without reservations. WHAT???? Lunch time on the boardwalk, during school holidays, was that a surprise? Perhaps they should have started knocking back people they couldnât handle when they walked in. Sure would have saved them a lot of bad word of mouth. The food we had was good, the server worth her weight in gold. When leaving I also suggest the lady at the till help her out and she nastily said âYou think I was doing nothing?â My...
Read moreI was over from SA to spend some time with my family. We had planned a lunch get together and was really looking forward to it. My daughter had organised scoopons and she paid for her 4 people, we were told we could use 2 scoopons for our table and was going to buy another one for 4 but by mistake we purchased one for 2 people so needed to purchase another for 2 which cost us slightly more but didn't think it would be too much of an issue. From the moment we arrived we were approached by the rudest person I have ever encountered in the hospitality industry (the grey haired lady). We tried to explain what had happened and we had 3 scoopons but it was the same as if we had 2 for 4 people, she refused to listen to us and we also tried to say we could sit on separate tables. But no she would not listen to us at all and was so rude that we did not want to be there, so we walked out! What could have been a great family lunch turned into a very unpleasant experience. I have been in the tourism industry for 23 years and have never come across anyone like her. This woman should find a new job that doesn't involve dealing with people. Would not recommend!
I have just received your response which shows the same unproffesional attitude we received on the day! Rorting the system- how rude- we had no intention of doing that and offered to pay the difference and sit seperately! A restaurant can be reviewed on service and food as it should offer the complete experience- you failed on the first- and I have read enough reviews from other diners to be glad we did not get to try the food. You should learn from the feedback not attack everyone who has dared to speak out. So I will leave it at that and others can form their...
