Staying locally (within walking distance) so thought we would go and try the thursday night “$25 Steak special” . Place was busy and atmosphere was great, and even though there was a line to order, everything moved relatively quickly and we didnt have to wait too long for our dinner. We both had the porterhouse steak and it was cooked perfectly! ( Medium) with pepper sauce and the side of creamy garlic prawns was great!! Got heaps of prawns in a serve! Lady on the ordering desk was not flustered even though it was busy and all the staff were super friendly! We also enjoyed our brownie and icecream desert! Great place to go for a meal and a pint, lots of seating options (we sat in the sports bar area). Cant wait to try their other meals on offer while we are down for a few days! Highly recommend👍

Just paid $19 for fish tacos which is basically a dry kale, red cabbage, bean sprout salad. No dressings. Where’s the slaw as advertised? Same as the burgers & schnitzels all has changed for the worse. Sam & Di might still be in the kitchen as they’re dedicated but 5x I’ve ordered various meals and nothing like Elaine. Talking with other locals feeling is mutual, no I didn't complain to staff as it was a takeaway, I did ask to ensure my taco had fish in it when I ordered to basically be told it’s all weighed out to the cent…so you’re given what is deemed to make a healthy profit in other words. South Yunderup isn’t Lakelands, it’s really sad to see a go to for us locals who have such limited access to takeaways have lost another option.

It's just not for us. Many people will love this place I'm sure, we've been here four times over a year or so, today we got Heineken pints, and then left for the Ravenswood. Not sure why but the same beer was different here, simply not as good at Sandy Cove and 27 for two pints. We've been unlucky with staff here who feel like they'd rather be somewhere (anywhere) else was our experience all four times. On the Murray the Ravo only 5 minutes away, and there was no comparison for us, that is where we'll go in future. Each to their own, pretty sure based on the staff here today no one will miss us anyway 🤣 and that's all good 👍 Doesn't mean you shouldn't give it a go, but for us it just wasn't ... good 🤷‍♂️

Went to The Sandy Cove to try it out on Sunday as we always go to the Ravo which never lets us down. Ordered 2 burgers a 1.40pm by 2.45pm we asked where they were...was then told they would be 5 minutes... we waited another 30 minutes then asked for a refund as we were leaving....the manager( I assume) came an apologised saying they were extremely busy and that our burgers were now coming...as we sat there waiting at least 15 people went and complained, some people had waited over 2 hours for pizza and salads.....another table only 2 of the 4 people received there meals and were then given a refund after 2 hours.....another table 2 people got their meals and the other 2 got theirs 1 hour later...one table went up 4 times to complain and they were still waiting when we left....this is shocking service and NOBODY enjoys their meals when they are kept waiting that long. It has left a bitter taste in my mouth and we won't return, this was not a one off as I spoke to someone yesterday and they had exactly the same problem 2 weeks prior on a Sunday. You really need to get your act together, a chef was sitting behind us and could not believe was she was witnessing....no food venue deals with 1 docket at a time. Thank god they closed the kitchen at 2.30 their poor staff had a lot if disgruntled people to deal with and that is not fair at all just because the...

You must try this Tavern it’s in a great location near the river in peaceful surroundings Never heard of this place before but stumbled across it whilst visiting a friend who lives on the canal Recently renovated and nestled among the trees on the river bank the views from the Tavern are amazing and so to the service and the quality food We just wanted 1 drink and a chat but the smell of the food coming out of the kitchen took over so we had lunch The menu was as extensive and catered for everyone so we chose some of the chefs specials and what a good move I had the calamari with salad and chips and my friend had the barramundi salad and chips. Get this it was $20 each and my calamari was the most tender and tasty I have ever had the salad and chips were great but the calamari was to die for. My friend said the fish was delicious so we landed on a real winner. I can assure you we will return with backup troops The service was very good and exceptionally quick. The atmosphere was amazing and peaceful I thoroughly enjoy the visit and would highly recommend the Sandy Cove Tavern to anyone including parents with kids Not sure why our friends haven’t told us about the his before? Anyway glad we are in the circle...

We took our adult children who were visiting from Perth to the Sandy Cove. Our son-in-law is celiac and we were happy to hear that the Sandy Cove has gluten free options. Service was great, super friendly and helpful. It was a busy night, shortly after Christmas and we ordered 6 meals. My son in law ordered the gluten free steak sandwich, which he said was pretty good. We also ordered the scotch fillet medium rare, which was tender, the red wine jus was quite over powering thankfully it came separately so wasn’t really eaten. Two orders of Chicken Parmi, which I was told was also really good, great portion size as well. There was an order of fish n chips with 3 good size portions of battered fish, I was told this was tasty and tender. I ordered the Thai Beef salad, so delicious and again big portion size. I took half of it home. Did I mention chips? I’ve had their hot chips several times and they are delicious. An enjoyable...
