There were six of us for an 8:00 am start for Breakfast, it was our first time back at the location previously a Dome Restaurant, where we had enjoyed lovely breakfasts and service, so it was going to be interesting comparing the recently new look renovated restaurant. The dĂ©cor was a bit bemusing-black and white! and maybe I imagined it but there was no welcome as we made our way to the rear of the restaurant as couples. Our orders for teas and coffees were taken efficiently and served very quickly, which was terrific as it is always good to have a cuppa whilst chatting amongst ourselves. Our orders for breakfast were given and whilst we waited for our meals to arrive, we caught up with each other's stories. The orders for breakfast were poached eggs on toast, eggs on toast with an avo smash, scrambled eggs on brown toast, eggs Florentine, big brekkie bagel & a bowl of Bircher The poached eggs were cold as were the scrambled eggs, eggs Florentine and the big brekkie eggs ,bacon and sausage were warm-none were hot! neither were the plates that they were served on! and the bowl of Bircher looked decidedly un appetising as our friend left half in the bowl! We are local residents to the area but left very disappointed with the quality of what was served us. The cost per couple approx. $ 40.00 so one should expect a nice hot breakfast that made our start to the day go off with a bang! but alas it was a bombed out start. We were looking forward to a great culinary experience which never eventuated. The wait staff was excellent and tried hard to make up for the cold eggs served, but we surmised that the meals should have been checked better for the degree of hotness prior to it being served . It was a pity that we decided as a group not to revisit as two of our friends live within walking distance. We have all worked in the service industry in various formats and at our stage in life expect a higher degree of service. Maybe it will happen. A suggestion to customers on entering your establishment: “welcome to the restaurant”. It is humble, paying respect to the...

Worst service in a cafe I have ever experienced - went for morning tea with 2 friends, we ordered 2 coffees, chai latte, 2 cakes and a soup - the two cakes were served promptly then we waited and waited for the hot drinks, my friend and I ended up eating most of our cake by the time ONE coffee and the chai latte arrived. Then eventually the soup arrived and I was still waiting for my coffee. We mentioned to a waitress that we were waiting on the coffee, she apologised and said she would get it but nothing happened. In the meantime, I could see other hot drinks going out, then the barista and other staff stood around and chatted and my coffee STILL didn't arrive so mentioned this to two more waitresses - by then more than 25 minutes had gone by and I'd eaten my cake. Eventually my coffee arrived - barely lukewarm when I'd asked for extra hot and a cappacino with more froth in the cup instead of the flat white I'd asked for. I worked for many years as waitress in a five star restaurant so I recognise poor service standard and poor staff training when I encounter it. My friend who is a local had raved about the cafe and couldn't wait to take me there. Sorry, will...

The days of quality customer service may be dead but not at Tod’s Cafe.

I was served by a beautiful lady with a lovely accent who took care of my every request! Helped me select my breakfast with no rush or hassle, got an amazing serving of the Citrus Pancakes!

I was sitting outside on a smaller table as it was just me and came in to use the free wifi and get some work done, food was fast, so was able to eat and then enjoy my coffee and straight back into the laptop afterwards.

I saw another customer with a juice in a jar and thought I’d have to give that a go, got the apple juice and it came super quickly!

Before I left I said good bye to the server and the customer service staff, stopping by to fill up my water bottle at the water station, again this lovely lady one step ahead of me the entire service, offered to put some ice in my 1.5L yeti bottle.

I wish I got her name to thank her, but I’m sure the owners and staff will know who she is!

Thanks Tods Cafe for a wonderful experience and for giving everyone back their faith in a great...

If you’re after a cozy spot in Halls Head for a relaxing cuppa, Todd’s Cafe is absolutely delightful. The atmosphere is welcoming and unpretentious, with a homely charm that makes you want to linger. Their tea service is lovely, brewed just right, hot and comforting, perfect alongside a fresh scone. The scones are the real highlight: light, fluffy, and served warm with generous lashings of jam and cream. They strike that perfect balance between indulgent and comforting, just like scones should be. The staff add to the charm with their friendly smiles and attentive service, making you feel looked after without being rushed. Whether you’re popping in for morning tea, catching up with a friend, or simply treating yourself, Todd’s Cafe hits the mark.

We dropped by for breakfast as a walk-in group of 10, and the friendly staff quickly helped us combine tables, which was much appreciated. The food was solid all around, with a special shoutout to the crispy hash browns. Coffee was excellent, and the cafĂ© also offers a nice selection of fresh pastries. It’s very kid-friendly too, with coloring materials available to keep the little ones entertained. The beachside view is beautiful, the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and there are a few parking lots right outside. A perfect spot to start the day.

UPDATE 3 years later. Still friendly prompt service but come on guys the servicing size for example, of your coconut raspberry slice is tiny. This shrink flation is getting out of hand. Value for money has well and truly left us. Great food, fast service, nice view of the beach. It's usually busy but everytime I've been here, I managed to find a table...A little expensive compared to SARBA'S in Lakelands... but if you are in the area, it's definitely Recommended
