We did the Underground Tour (I missed the owners name sorry). It was fabulous. We took our three children 10, 4 and 1. It was so engaging, funny, informative and hand on. The owner was so knowledgeable and witty. The tour was an easy walk underground after we drove following a long to his underground mine. He told so many stories of past finds as well as media that have been to film with him. His display shop was so beautiful with very reasonably priced real opals, jewellery, gems and stones. He had the most professional set up in all of whitecliffs

Here’s a polished version of your review, if you’d like to share it publicly (e.g., Google, TripAdvisor, or Facebook):

We did the Underground Tour (I missed the owner's name, unfortunately) and it was absolutely fabulous! We brought our three children—ages 10, 4, and 1—and the experience was so engaging, funny, informative, and hands-on. The owner was incredibly knowledgeable and witty, making the tour enjoyable for both kids and adults.

The tour included an easy walk underground after a short drive to his underground mine. He shared countless fascinating stories about past opal finds and even spoke about media crews who have come to film with him.

His display shop was stunning—by far the most professional setup in all of White Cliffs. It featured beautiful, real opals, jewellery, gems, and stones, all very reasonably priced. Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting the area!

Want me to add anything about how your kids found it or how accessible it was for little ones?

He let all the kids (there was maybe 10-15 kids as it was school holidays) have a turn to dig for opals inside his mine. He provided hard hats and torches for all guests. I had my 1yo in a carrier but you could probably get by with a small stroller if absolutely needed, though some bits were a bit steep. So I'd definitely recommend a carrier if you have a little one. Though, watch the little ones head on the walls as he wouldn't let me forget it when I accidentally donged Jaggers head on the wall

The tour included an easy walk underground after a short drive to his underground mine. He shared countless fascinating stories about past opal finds and even spoke about media crews who have come to film with him.

As it was school holidays, there were around 10–15 kids on the tour, and he made sure every single one got a chance to dig for opals inside the mine! He provided hard hats and torches for all guests, which added to the excitement and adventure.

I had my 1-year-old in a carrier, which worked really well. You could probably manage with a small stroller if absolutely necessary, though some areas are a bit steep—so I’d definitely recommend a carrier for little ones. Just be mindful of low walls and ceilings—I accidentally bumped Jagger’s head and he (very humorously) made sure I wouldn't forget it!

Highly recommend this tour to families and anyone visiting the area!

Bitterly disappointed. Drove out for advertised 10am opening, looking forward to coffee and cake for smoko. Then a view of displays of opal in particular the pineapple opal after the hype on TV. Met by Handwritten Sign said open 2.30 pm. Went back to caravan park. Next day I texted the advertised number to ask if the 2.30 opening was still relevant. I was replied 2.30. Back we went today and a group of mine tour people were there. We waited until their talk was done and then moved forward to view the jewellery and display opal pineapple (no cafe). The lights were turned off and we were ushered out the door. I am not comfortable to do underground tour and I also do not have the medical ability to walk the tour. Short staffed due to health issues was the excuse given for shutting us out, which I could understand and sympathise. A sign saying "cafe coffee, cakes, jewellery, opal specimen viewing cancelled until further notice. Tours Available" Would have saved us the embarrassment of being hurried out the door of...

We had a little break from fossicking to enjoy some coffee, hot chocolates and fresh scones. All went down a treat, scones were absolutely delicious!

Graeme’s tour was a highlight of our trip! Graeme was engaging from the start, exceptionally good with our kids, extremely knowledgeable and has a great story.

If coming to White Cliffs for just a night, make sure you arrive early afternoon (by 245pm) so you can do this tour, it is an absolute must!

Thanks for a brilliant afternoon, we had the best time. And a big special thanks from our youngest, for looking for and retrieving that damn precious camping stick of hers šŸ™ˆā€¦. You truly went above and beyond! Don’t be surprised if you have some young kids reach out looking for work experience in a few years time, they seem to...

Was expecting a 45-60 minute tour underground for the price however it was probably the best value tour I've done. $25, only downside was how many other people were there! At least 30 others. Tour went for nearly 3 hours, starting in the shop with a talk about different kinds of opal and how its formed and where its found and a history about the town. Then a short 2 minute drive (in your own car) to the mine. I think we spent about 2 hours in the mine looking around and getting stories and jokes along the way. Very entertaining, and he's not as scary as he was on TV when the pineapple opal got smashed in half. Definitely recommend the tour!
