Dinner at the Cape Lodge Restaurant is so underrated. We spent $225 for two people, three course meal + appetisers + sparkles and it was amazing value for the amount of thought and detail that went into the set menu. Perfect amount of sourness in the vinaigrette dressing to go with the oysters, amazing green lip abalone. The sauce and toppings that went with it was just perfect together. So glad we got to try this, the flavours and textures blew my mind. The cuttlefish and pork neck terrine were each so uniquely flavourful, especially loved the bits of pickle and fruit in the terrine. We also ordered the beef and lamb shoulder which was again, perfectly cooked, soft and amazing. Read moreWe went as a couple on a Friday night. We've been kindly asked by the staff where we wanted to sit and we opted for the deck on the lake, where we enjoyed a little aperitivo. We then moved inside to a table with stunning view of the lake. I was so pleased to see a very modern table setting, without the heaviness of a tablecloth that speaks so much of the 70s. Daniele took care of us, a very friendly Italian guy that made us laugh and accommodate every single request. We did a 5 course degustation with wine pairing. Every course has its signature taste: each of the dishes was very different from the other, and yet all merged together as a harmonious dining experience.
