Stopped here for brekkie on Sunday about 9:30am. Sat on the deck in a quiet spot with a nice outlook. Ordered the corn fritters (see pic), B+E roll with roasted tomato & a large coffee. Total was $46.50. Note that there is a 10% surcharge on Sunday 😐 and public holidays.
The coffee took about 10 mins but the food took about 30 mins. As such, I'd finished the drink we'll before the food. Next time I'll request the drink be served with the food.
The food was tasty, but the coffee was too strong and had an unfamiliar flavour 🤔
The corn fritters were a bit thin and dry for my liking. I think there may have been too much flour in the mix as they had a batter like coating.
Next time I'll try one of the big breakfast meals as they looked delicious and a generous serving.
The tables were clean and service friendly and efficient. The complimentary bottled water and glasses were clean and we were asked we'd like a refill.
The place got really busy by 10am.
We'll be back again and look forward to trying...
Read moreThis is a lovely cafe all-round. We were so glad we ended up here pretty much unplanned, on our way to Hunter. The location itself is beautiful, both outdoor and indoors. Very well maintained. (Shame I haven’t got any pics) The staff is very friendly and accommodating. It was a busy day when we went and with kids, they were every helpful, and to add to that I’m a dairy and wheat intolerant person. They were very patient in accommodating our demanding order with many conditions :). Scones were awesome I heard from my wife and little one! And my gluten free cake was top notch too. My daughter fell in love with the place, so much so that she insisted we come there for lunch the next day on our way back. And we did but unfortunately the place was so busy that they weren’t able to coop up so had to settle with a quick lunch.
Will not miss this place if/when I head back to Hunter again (of course the...
Read moreGreat coffee and delicious lunch. Wollombi is a bit out of the way, but gets plenty of day trippers and is worth a visit if you haven't been there before. Myrtle House cafe has a fairly standard cafe menu, but the meals my wife and I had were well presented, tasty and reasonably priced. My Cinnamon spiced pumpkin salad with house smoked salmon was top notch. That cinnamon really compliments the pumpkin and the salmon was nice and lightly smoked. My wife's beef burger was clearly home made, delicious and held together really well, not a soggy mess that some cafe's serve up. Service was attentive and friendly. Sorry, I forgot to take any pics, only realising when our...
