Update 20/6/25...3rd visit at intervals of 3 yrs since 2019... Such precision recollection!! Recalling too the upgrades made to dine in facilities & surrounds. Book ahead for casual dining. Credit card details taken when booking. Weekend surcharge levied.

Re-badged plain MM to UUMM (just a play on words i was told) & upgraded toilets!! As for casual dine in facilities for lunch - preferred the cellar barn at the rear with alfresco option. More so in the colder months when strong, freezing winds inevitably blow. The gardens, which was a nice addition is no longer here unless it is now pared down or moved.

3rd visit this time 3 weeks ago on Sun - we were all made to sit alfresco, shivering in Icy winds with nothing more than house embossed blankets. Pot of tea went icy cold within mins! Pizza - prosciutto was delish, loved the flavoursome base plus topping. Service was slow, possibly bcos we were a large group.

We were all in our warmest gear, having walked from Woodend train station (5 km uphill but not overly hard), but we still felt the icy chill.. Fine to be asked to sit alfresco but hey! how about some patio heaters & some wind breakers? Poor friendly wait staff too shivered through serving us outside.

Review in Nov 2022: 2nd visit after 3 years - great to see the new dedicated "barn" cellar door cum restaurant/casual dining area.

Up on a hill - easily accessible by car or almost 5 km walk up one way from Woodend train station. With the mists swirling over the vineyards last Sun- gave it a mystical allure. The views are over the rolling paddocks - obscured by trees in the further horizon but serene & relaxing. There is a tiered garden beside the residences (accom?) on left of driveway at the top but now has a no entry sign which is a pity. We were able to check it out on our last visit & this was an added bonus.

Some in my group had the 4 glass wine tasting paddle for $16 to go with pizzas or liight entrees. I had the Chorizo pizza which was good but not exceptional @ $28 & a glass of sparkling $12 which was excellent combo. Had to takeaway half the pizza of coz! The rest of the group really enjoyed their paddle board wines & light eats & pizzas which was shared (I shld have done this!). Pizza size is not huge but can be shared by two. You will be served by friendly &...

I visited your UUMM restaurant to celebrate my husband’s 40th birthday and had given the reason for my visit on your booking confirmation form as well. Also when I visited the restaurant I asked your staff to serve the desserts at the end with a candle or may be with something written in it - like happy birthday.. but nothing - there came just a normal dessert. I don’t understand what’s the point in taking so many details when making a booking when you guys are not even going to use/ deliver on it.. I had a high expectation as the billing dnd info page seemed so good and refreshing as you guys really would really use it but nothing.. not even a greeting from staff. Also you guys asked for a photograph during booking confirmation saying that you would like to welcome us and I happily shared my pic but if no use. I am not asking for a special treatment however any restaurant would keep a candle and put a happy birthday with cream on dessert cake .. there could have been atleast something done from your end.. just felt like a normal day at a normal restaurant.. there was a reason why s chose you or restaurant- I wanted to make my husband’s birthday special - which didn’t happen.. so very disappointed in the services . The food was definitely good - no complaints with that .

REPLY TO BUSINESS MANAGERS COMMENT BELOW: A personalized message—like a handwritten message or even "Happy Birthday" written on a plate —are often added naturally and don’t require extra notifications. My understanding was that by collecting information ahead of visits, you aim to make guests feel special.

Additionally, regarding the "glass of sparkling wine along with a family photo," this wasn’t offered during our visit. If your staff believes otherwise, please check with them, as we didn’t experience this part of the service. Instead, our lunch felt very plain, without the little touches that could have enhanced the day.

Please ensure your Google responses reflect our actual experience accurately. Misleading information can affect customer trust.

Thank you for your...

We had a wonderful afternoon at MMW. We came out to have another look at the view/surroundings and try out some of the food and wine with my bridal party. Everything was impeccable and everything tasted amazing! We can’t wait for our wedding here in September 2023!!!

If planning a trip here, it is recommended to make a booking in advance via their website 😁 As you will be able to see it is a fantastic venue for a wedding and so there may often be private functions during wedding season which the booking function will tell you about. Given they keep their booking function on the MMW website updated, the google opening hours aren’t able to be updated on each occasion that they have a private function….

An update to our review (16.10.23): We had our wedding at MMW on 29.09.23 and MMW were absolutely superb! The backdrop was amazing and the weather was just perfect - it was just the best day honestly.

The staff for our whole day were absolutely amazing and went above and beyond our expectations! It just made the whole experience so much better and it’s clear how experienced all the MMW staff were in wedding coordination - they were all over it and we are so grateful! Alyson (x2) were both amazing in bringing our vision for the day together - from perfectly decorating the reception venue; to fluffing my dress just before I walked down the aisle; to having some of our cake packed for us to take back to the bridal suite; to packing up everything ready for us to take the next morning! They were so so lovely and everything was perfection and even though some of those things are little, we noticed and they mattered to us! We honestly couldn’t be happier that we picked your venue for our wedding day - it’s amazing and we’ll be singing their praises for years to come! If you are tossing up about choosing MMW as your wedding venue - just do it. You will not be...

Serene location and wholesome food. The winery is located on the mountainside, boasting a restaurant, cellar door, function space and scenic gardens. We visited the restaurant for lunch on a rainy Sunday. Restaurant was very spacious and open with its barn-style decor so well suited. It felt like a well kept secret as the outside was subtle in design, but so warm and welcome once you pass through the restaurant doors. We were seated quickly considering it was pretty busy with large groups and we had no booking upon arrival. As you enjoy your meal, the restaurant has large windows on either side, where you can view the uphill vineyard in-front of the trees on the mountaintop, or the downhill view overlooking the vast green property and skyline. The food was absolutely amazing. Most menu choices were homemade, and the specials menu was something you wouldn't have been able to find online. Good surprise. Food was fresh, with classic flavours, perfect right down to their selection of their dinnerware. We did want to do a wine tasting, however they must need to be booked in advance otherwise you could be waiting a while, so we passed on that. Everything was perfect, only thing to consider is you will need to drive down gravel roads to get the winery, but even small cars were capable, just drive with care .
