Whilst on solo holiday in Alpbach, enjoying the ski-ing and good company at the Post, I was told about the Zottahof and made the early evening walk up to it one night. A lovely walk, scenic, refreshing and invigorating. I then sat and ate enough food to kill an elephant. Delicious, home cooked, fresh, portions that'd sink a ship... loved it.
Great chat with some randoms in the front room which holds four large round tables.
Was told to ask for the pint of milk run, which I did. Then I had another... and another one.... then some schnapps.... some more food... then dessert (of course)... then staggered back outside to find it pitch black and four hours later!!
Jogged / stumbled / giggled back down the hill in the snow and ice, fell in love with the scenery over Alpbach and the few lights glittering in the crisp night sky.

It is not too far out of Alpbach by car perhaps 10 minutes high up on the mountain side. The views during the day would be fantastic . The food was delicious with generous portions, fantastic price and the service was very friendly.
