Restaurant Schichlreit — Restaurant in Annaberg-Lungötz

Beautiful area, nice restaurant. Keep in mind there is often no mobile signal here at all, and when there is (it seemed to be very weather dependent), very limited. The best thing about this place, by far, is the excellent service. Our party was served tirelessly through the night by three efficient and ever-smiling staff.

The food was perfectly OK, though I can't really say I would go there primarily for that, or that it was worth the higher prices. As a very large party, we were given a deal on the food, but cordon bleu with potatoes was still 15 per plate. The cordon bleu was ok, but no better than what you'd normally pay 10 for. The small handful of rosemary potatoes that came with it were very good. Portion-wise, it's the kind of place where you'll probably need the starter and dessert too.

All in all, nice enough place but...

Amazing place! We stayed with a baby in the smaller room which is at the top floor. The room was great! Very new and modern. Big and new bathroom, entrance hall with a new washing machine, great kitchen, great bed, nice living room and a wonderful balcony with an outstanding view to the forest and mountain. Most important, Maria was so nice! Her restaurant (which is one minute away) has the best food we had in Austria, very nice play ground and a great staff. The buns and croissants she made for us in the mornings are a must! Soooo good! And also the cake we got with the room was delicious! She also helped us with anything we needed - with the room and with places to go to in every weather. We didn't want to leave! And...

Our stay in this accommodation was nothing but MAGICAL! ❤️ The apartment was super clean, spacious and beautifully decorated, it makes you feel so good and warm there. The kitchen utensils such as casseroles and pans are of high quality which for me was definitely a great plus. The calm, the nature, the sound of the small river and animals, it was all so relaxing. We also enjoyed sauna which was perfect after biking or hiking during the day. And, last but not least, Maria, the host, is such a nice person always ready to help with anything and bringing you fresh bread and the best croissants for breakfast, if you want to 🤤❤️ thank you Maria, we loved...
