Einkehr zum Adlerblick — Restaurant in Brandberg

Incredible view at the dam, keeping all the water in the lake! Impressive construction. Note the jumping and then falling and flying little birds. The Kuchen at this restaurant are highly recommended. Really fresh and homemade. Juicy fruity plums and apricots in not too sweet cake. Coffee good. Did not check the menu for vegetarian options because we had to take off for our hike to the Plauener Hutte. With quite a walk ahead no time to stay longer. You get here easiest by bus, however, the hike looked nice and exciting too. You will have to pass around the tunnels because these are not for pedestrians. All in all a wonderful day trip and good place to take a rest or lunch or coffee and cake. Very friendly and helpful...

Magnificent, vertiginous views of the valley and the dam. We tried two soups and both were very tasty. Note 1: cash only. Note 2: if you go there by bicycle, bring a light, since you will need to pass through two long tunnels on your way up & down. The tunnels do have lighting and traffic only consists of local buses ferrying pedestrians back and forth -- but it doesn't hurt (literally!) to make yourself visible in...

Egal wie man letztendlich dort oben beim Restaurant Adler Blick ankommt, der Aufwand und die Anstrengungen haben sich unbedingt gelohnt! Ich fand das Essen prima. Es gibt auch Landestypische Gerichte die man probieren sollte. Das Personal bemüht sich sehr, natürlich, wenn sehr viel los ist, kann es auch mal etwas länger dauern, aber damit muss man rechnen wenn man einen solchen Ort bei schönen Wetter besucht. Und schön war das Wetter als ich dort unterwegs war. :) Die Aussicht ist fantastisch und nachdem ich gestärkt war ging es am See entlang bist fast zum Ende. Eine Wanderung, die ich an dieser Stelle sehr empfehlen kann. Der Tunnel ist etwas gruselig, aber ich habs überlebt und wenn es drausen heiß ist kann man drinnen gut abkühlen. Oh, fast hätte ich vergessen zu erwähnen das es wichtig ist sich vorab Gedanken zu machen wie man hinkommt Maut - Gebühr , Bus Hin / Rückfahrt, und auch Öffnungszeiten checken, nicht vergessen. Ich bin mit dem PKW bis zur letztmöglichen Stelle gefahren, habe dann den Buss hin und zurück genommen und bin, wie gesagt, noch schön am See entlang gewandert. Eine wunderschöne bleibende Erinnerung da alles sehr harmonisch abgelaufen ist. Danke an das nette Personal...
