Gasthaus Bucherwirt — Restaurant in Buch in Tirol

Oh my, oh my. Food paradise.

Whilst on holiday in Austria, I fancied to eat typically local food. Following reviews I chose Gasthof Bucherwirt as the dine in restaurant. On my way in I was greeted with a guten abend friendly waitress who informed me that english language menus are not available. We sat down and with the help of google translate I was working my way down the menu. The waitress came and kindly offered to help with the translation of the menu. She recommended traditional plates and I followed the recommended platters. The food came in less than 15 minutes and it was very good. The portions are big and my kids only ate half the food, ending taking food as takeaway. The pork schnitzel, cordon bleu were very tasty. What I liked was the attention given by the staff, who came more than once to check whether all was ok. Ich weiß gar nicht, wo ich anfangen soll. Aus Zufall bin ich auf dieses Restaurant auf Google gestoßen und dachten, da gehen wir spontan hin. Also wir ankamen, war auf dem Parkplatz schon gefühlt Mord und Tod Schlag um einen Platz zu ergattern, da hatte ich schon Panik, ob wir überhaupt einen Platz bekommen. Kaum als wir drinnen waren, wurde meine Befürchtung bestätigt. Aber der Kellner hatte dann doch einen Platz für uns, war zwar mitten im Raum aber das störte uns nicht, da wir Hunger hatten und froh waren, einen Platz zu bekommen. Das Service Personal war sehr auf Trapp und war sehr zuvorkommend. Vor allem hat man bemerkt, dass sie wirklich ihre Materie beherrschen, obwohl es wirklich extrem viel los war und alle Tische besetzt waren (kein Tisch war länger als 5min leer, bis die nächsten Gäste einen Platz zugewiesen bekamen) , war das Personal TOP! Keine Hektik, kein Stress sondern stets freundlich und sehr professionell den Überblick behalten! Viele Gastronomen sollten sich hier eine Scheibe abschneiden! Obwohl es heute keine Rahmsoße mit Champignons gab, wollte das Servicepersonal mit der Küche reden, dass diese doch für mich zubereitet werden soll. Was ich aber dankend zurückwies, da ich auch mit einer Pfefferrahmsoße zufrieden war, die heute auf der Karte war.

Ich bestellte mir ein Wienerschnitzel mit Spätzle und Bratensauce dazu gab's noch einen Salat und mein Mann das gleiche nur mit Pommes und der Pfefferrahmsoße.

Obwohl es so voll war und das Essen an uns gefühlt wie auf dem Laufband raus ging, bekamen wir unser Essen erstaunlicher Weise innerhalb von 15-20 Minuten. Die Portionen sind so riesig! Und geschmacklich bombastisch! Ich hab noch nie so ein gutes Schnitzel gegessen! Die Bratensauce auch total meinen Geschmack getroffen und die handgescharbten Spätzle haben wir gefühlt inhaliert.

Und das Beste (oder auch Schlimme?) daran, wir haben für 2 Getränke, 2 Portionen Wienerschnitzel (insgesamt 4 Schnitzel), 2 extra Saucen und zwei Beilagen Salate: 39€ bezahlt. Ich hätte für diese Qualität definitiv mehr bezahlt und habe dafür gerne mehr Trinkgeld gegeben, worauf die Kellnerin mich darauf hingewiesen hat, dass das zu viel ist.

Gutes Personal und tolle Küche muss belohnt werden! Schon fast tragisch, dass das heutzutage keiner mehr Wertschätz mit Trinkgeld....

The greatest regret of my trip to Tirol is that I only came here once (the other two times I tried to stop by it was closed on Monday and Tuesday) It is by far the best restaurant I went to in Austria. The portion size was HUGE. My pork knuckle (Schweinshaxe) was the size of my head, roasted to perfection with crispy skin. I ended up eating it for two more meals. The salads were also huge, flavorful and refreshing. The kid size grill meat platter was big enough to feed two adults and I’ve never seen my daughter eat grilled chicken with that kind of voracity. Did I mention great value? The said pork knuckle was only £15. The entire bill for 5 people including tip at the end was £100. Honestly you cannot...
