I can not believe there are not more reviews about this place, someone is missing out a great experience in the Austrian countryside!!||||The hotel and restaurant are housed in what looks like a well restored 18th century house. The rooms are brand new, spacious, have a beautiful alpine feeling and are finished to a very high standard. The bathrooms have very pretty blue tiles and are spottless clean (like the rest of the hotel). In the rooms you can find nice touches like complementary slippers, a bottle of water (altough the one from the tap is even better), flat screen, DVD player and a good quality hairdrier. It is not luxury, but a mile above what you get in this price range. (I am talking in plural as we had booked 2 rooms)||The breakfast was nice and cosy with good quality produces and plenty of choice.||||But what we have liked the most, was the warm, informal and attentive service, from the owner to the waitresses and the lady organizing breakfast. All where able to deliver a spotless service, but at the same time make you feel as you were home.||||The restaurant serves good traditional food and specializes in fresh trout dishes.||||The location is probably not worth a holiday by itself, but it is a tipical very small Austrian village, with a cute blue pond and a weird modernist building in the middle of a field. The reason why we happened to chose the place was that it is 5 minutes by car from the motorway that goes from Munich to Kufstein and it is very easy to find.||||For such a reasonable price and the good experience, we are relly looking forward...
Read moreOur home away from home for just one night, while on our way to Defereggental for one week on skis. Erl is a very easy reach, essentially next to the motorway right on the border between Germany and Austria. The guesthouse sits nicely on the main road to Erl, good parking, too. The house is old but very nicely refurbished, or maybe re-built to modern and high standards. We had big and nice rooms, well equipped, and with just the correct atmosphere, especially if you’re on your way to more alpine settings; Blaue Quelle will surely put you in the right mood, and place a smile on your face. Quick and friendly check-in, including the booking of a table in the restaurant. I can’t ignore the house restaurant, which is also where the truly excellent breakfast is served. We had dinner, and should you choose to stay in Blaue Quelle, so should you! Outside, in an aquarium you can actually see the trout you’re going to have on your plate, and the chef did the very best of it. Could be the bedt trout I ever had! So, Blaue Quelle, to us, turned out to be just another hidden gem, and I am more than happy to recommend a night or two in this guesthouse, should it happen to be on your way either south or north...
