Maltschacher Seewirt — Restaurant in Feldkirchen in Kärnten

My girlfriend picked this place by chance and once we got there - it was a fairytale place. In my humble opinion, the whole lake area is - a paradise. Really. Pure - paradise.||||We got seated at the terrace of the hotel and ordered dinner. The service was decent enough and I can put no remark (it is a family run establishment and people work hard to make it look the good as it does).||||The atmosphere was quite relaxed and casual and we liked that.||||We ordered a beer and a glass of wine and both were quite all right. For dinner we ordered a filled-schnitzel (Cordon-blue) and a grilled meat and both were - beyond delicious. The grilled vegetables that came with the schnitzel were - a taste from paradise. I would not regret if I had ordered only that.||||For desert we had ice-creams of various sorts and these were all right (somewhat confectious, but - I would not mind eating those at my own home).||||Minor remark from my side will be for the smoking-free policy on the terrace. It was not overstuffed with smoke because the terrace is open to the magnificent view on the lake, but it is not pleasant to breathe a whiff of cigar smoke, while you are eating. Also, the ashtray was left very dirty on our table (funny thing is, the table cloth was very clean, but the ashtray was only emptied and put back). We could have asked the waiter to take it away, but we did not mind that much.||||We would recommend this establishment because of it's magnificent location and quite tasty food. Leider muss ich von einer sehr negativen Erfahrung berichten, soviel Geringschätzung wurde uns in Gastronomiebetrieben selten zu Teil. Wir wollten am Freitagnachmittag genüsslich speisen, vorzugsweise auf der Terrasse mit Seeblick. In der aktuellen Boulevard Presse wurde das Lokal ja zuletzt stark gelobt. Als wir ankamen, herrschte auf der Terrasse ein auffallendes Durcheinander, dürfte an dem Ende zu gehenden Tauffeierlichkeiten geschuldet sein. Niemand nahm Notiz von uns, nach Suche eines Mitarbeiters und unsere Frage nach einem Tisch und Küchen Öffnungszeiten deutete man uns den Weg zum Ende der Terrasse - „dort müsste was frei sein...“ und überlies uns den Irrweg zwischen wild durcheinander stehendem Mobiliar. Wir nahmen Platz und waren einigermaßen verwundert über den verschmutzen Tisch und Sessel die eher an ein Strandbadbuffet als ein Restaurant erinnern. Minute um Minute verging - niemand nahm Notiz von uns! Auch auf entsprechende Handzeichen reagierte man nicht. Ein Ober hatte ein Baby am Arm und hatte damit wohl mehr Freude als uns wenigstens die Karte zu bringen. Inzwischen stellte sich heraus das unser Tisch unmittelbar vor dem Rauchereck stand, dieses wurde auch genutzt und wir wurden von hinten angepafft. Nach dem über 15 Minuten nach wie vor niemand Notiz von uns nahm haben wir das Lokal verlassen, beim Hinausgehen kam es noch zu einer Diskussion mit dem Ober der das gar nicht verstehen konnte das wir jetzt gehen - wenig erbaulich - ich bereue sehr die Anfahrt und den vielen Ärger den wir an diesem Nachmittag erleben mussten!

Update 26.06.2024: Hallo Hr. Mathias Spieß, vielen Dank für Ihre Antwort! Leider nutzen Sie diese nicht um die Sache ins positive zu drehen, nein, im Unterton sind wir jetzt die Unmöglichen, besser noch, Sie bezeichnen uns als respektlos! Ich wollte mit meiner 80 jährigen Mutter einfach nur einen wunderschönen kulinarischen Nachmittag verbringen, leider endete das mit Ärger und Fassungslosigkeit. Nur eins noch, weil falsch dargestellt: Wir wurden bereits am Anfang der Terrasse an den letzten Tisch verwiesen, wir wollten den überhaupt nicht, auch weil nicht regenfest! Das wir an Ihnen oder weiteren Personal vorbei gegangen sind mag sein, allerdings nicht bewusst, außer dem Ober am Anfang, der uns den Tisch auf den letzten der Terrasse deutete, konnte ich kein weiters Personal oder gar Sie erkennen, wie auch, sahen alle nach Gästen aus. Für uns ist die Sache gegessen, wir entsprechen wahrscheinlich nicht ihrer Zielgruppe, Gäste nach einer Google Bewertung als respektlos darzustellen spricht für sich, ich bin froh das wir bei vielen Toplocations in Mittelkärnten gerne gesehene Gäste mit freundschaftlichem Anschluss sind und wissen für die...
