Location: On the top of the Sattlerhof winery hill, very picturesque||Check in and welcome: A waitress simply gave us the key to our "Genießerzimmer", but did not offer any help with the luggage up the two stairs or gave us any explanation||Room: We were expecting a country style room, BUT the room was a strange mixture of various styles not matching each other: the wooden floor was old and should be refurbished, the bed was of no specific style, but with cheap foam pillows, there was silver faux leather cladding on the walls, a mirrored chest of drawers and a bathroom with country-style tiles - the pictures on their website did not have anything in common with the actual room; The big balcony with a great view over the wine hills was nice, but we smelled, what was cooked in the kitchen (Backhendl)||Wirtshaus: The waitress was completely lost and not friendly at all - she told us, what we could not order||Restaurant: Despite we made our table reservation three months in advance, we were not seated on the nicer winter garden, but in a dark corner in the other room - obviously, they forgot our reservation, although it was confirmed by e-mail; The sommelier was friendly, competent and gave us excellent recommendations, the other waiter was professional too, but the waitresses were either new or untrained; the menu was good, especially fish and beef, but with a little bit too much "schi schi" - it seems that the kitchen was trying too hard to live up to international cuisine standards||Breakfast: Once, the waitress was really charming, but the other morning the waitress seemed stressed and overchallenged again by our coffee and eggs orders (there is just one person in charge for the breakfast buffet and taking care of all guests); nice selection of cold cuts, breads, fruits and yoghurts||Check out: Fast and professional, but...
Read moreWe choose to go to the Sattlerhof with the Genuss Klassik 3 nights package. What a feast! Where to start? The restaurant is out of this world, the food absolutely excellent, each amuse-bouche and each course following each other as they should, as a music page, worth every penny, the wines, advised by a French sommelier, perfectly chosen for each course. The Wirthaus benefits also from a top chef and the diner was excellent! Thank you to all cuisine staff!! |The Buschenchank (not part of the Sattlerhof) had a nice view and a nice terrace. It was good but I humbly believe that one can find more fine specialties (we had the classic choice with hams, smoked ham, cheese etc..) in other ones. ||There is also a nice pool to cool off and a sauna…down some stairs, with a beautiful view.|| But the Sattlerhof would not be the exeptionnal place it is without its whole dedicated, charming, friendly and smiling team. Everybody makes you feel part of the family.|It was a truly unique experience. We recommend 200%. |Thank you for your welcome, for taking such good care of us and for making sure we were as comfortable...
