The place is really nice, clean and tidy. Pleasant restaurant, bar and a playground for the kids to play. It was a bit more expensive than expected, but that was not the problem. What was REALLY ANNOYING was the way we were treated. The waiter, a guy in his fifties, treated us like we were not wanted there. After all we travelled nearly 1000 miles, we were literally nockered and might not have looked our best, but we were paying customers and as such we deserved proper customer service. He was smiling and chatting with other customers, but with us - frown face and neglect. We did not go there to talk and laugh with the waiter. We went there to have a quick rest and have nice dinner. Furthermore, I believe as this place is on a main international highway it is also supposed to be a welcoming pit stop for everybody, no matter their nationallity or spoken language. German and English are the two most used languages in Europe and are a must for a person working in such place. As my German is a bit rusty, some things I asked in English. I am sure the waiter speaks English very well, as he brought our orders with everything we asked for (well, we didn't ask for so much salt in out meals, but probably the chef dropped the packet of salt in the pan), but whatever I asked him in English, he just refused to respond in the same language and returned something quick in German. Also I was laughed at by a tall blond girl at the bar for not retaining my ticket for the WC to claim the money back when paying the bill. What the....? Not a pleasant experience at all. NEVER COMING BACK, EVER!!!
P.S.: A free tip for the owner or general mannager: The place is gorgeous, so much money invested, great potential, but please invest some time into hiring good staff with proper attitude...
Read moreThe Rosehill Foodpark in St. Pölten serves its basic purpose as a rest stop, but it doesn't leave a strong impression. The free parking is a nice touch, though the lot itself is quite small, so I can imagine it getting cramped during peak travel times. The entire facility feels compact; on the one hand, this makes it quick to get in and out, but on the other, it lacks the spaciousness and variety of larger rest areas. The place was noticeably clean, which is a definite plus and shows that it's well-maintained. However, the fact that the restrooms require a fee is a bit disappointing, especially when you're already patronizing the mini-market. It would be a much better experience if the use of the facilities was included. Speaking of the mini-market, it has a decent selection of items for travelers, but nothing that particularly stands out. The overall quietness of the place was interesting; it didn't seem to attract many visitors, which might be a good thing if you're looking for a quick, hassle-free stop, but it also suggests it’s not a highly sought-after destination. In summary, this rest stop is an okay option if you need to pull over quickly. It's clean and functional, but the limited space and paid toilets detract from the overall convenience. It’s certainly not a place you would go out of your...
