Gasthaus Moser is situated at the end of a winding road above the Piesting Valley,just outside the vilage of Gutenstein, about 35 miles southwest of Vienna.You find yourself at Mariahilfberg,a church ,monastery,and a few houses, surrounded by pine forests with a stunning view of the Schneeeberg ,the first of the large alps in lower Austria.The Moser family run a traditional Guesthouse offering local dishes and desserts,which are very popular with locals especially at weekends, I can recommend the local beers and homemade Apfelstrudel ! Breakfast consisted of wonderful bread rolls,cheeses and cooked meats,fruit juice, tea or coffee.The Mosers were very friendly and welcoming,speak English and often have Americans and Australians staying.The family has run a guest house on the site for 150 years !! The accommodation is simple but very clean and very reasonably priced.We really enjoyed exploring the many walking trails,visiting the historic church of Mariahilfberg itself,and the stunning views over the surrounding valleys ,while drinking in some of the cleanest...
