Schnitzelwirt — Restaurant in Gemeinde Hürm

This review is kind of easy, as the place is delivering on exactly what the name "Schnitzelwirt" already says:

Great value-for-money Schnitzel (and other items) for the whole family. The pork Schnitzel viennese style were done very well - thin, beautiful colour, good crust, not overly greasy. The meat could maybe have been seasoned a bit more before putting it into flour/egg/breadcrumbs but it was good and this is easy to fix with some pepper/salt on the table. Ketchup appeared to be free, Preiselbeeren (lingonberry) was extra (a bit more than 2€ surcharge for a small bowl).

Portions are good, especially if you are crazy like me and go for the "supersize me" option as you can see in the image. This option gives you 3 instead of 2 Schnitzels and the potato salad portion is bigger as well. Typically, the normal option should be more than enough for anyone.

My wife had the cordon bleu (good too) with fries (likely typical convenience product, could have been better), again, very good value for money.

The interior looks a bit like a beer hall with big wood tables and benches - and can be filled with loads and loads of people. Nevertheless, even this whole space can be packed or full, as we experienced on a weekend when we wanted to have a quick lunch there. So, if the weather is nice, be aware that for weekends you better make a reservation in advance, as families really enjoy coming here with their kids to fill their Schnitzel cravings.

Would I come again? Likely not, as I prefer the atmosphere a bit more relaxed. But if you are looking out for some very good Schnitzel at a fair price point, I can really recommend this place.

Absolute stunning experience, was on public holiday for dinner. Due we charged our car and I charged there quite often but never had the chance to take dinner there. Service and location: restaurant typical Austrian and Austrian service, friendly a bit naughty and always try to make the guest happy. Food: Stunning quality for huge portions. We ate pizza, Schnitzen, and deep fried Champignons and as a starter soup. All tasted really outstanding delicious! Big compliment to the kitchen team which make the food faster then announced. Thanks to the team for the great service and please continue the way how you run it! A full recommendation if you pass by! Every highway restaurant is far behind their standards! Price: for this size of portions it’s really CHEAP! Love this place and see you next time and will always charge...

Ein interessantes (sicher einmaliges) Erlebnis…

Auf das Restaurant bin ich durch das große Werbeschild auf dem Gebäude aufmerksam geworden, dass man von der nahen Autobahn gut sehen kann, und so wurde meine Neugierde geweckt. Ich esse gerne Schnitzel und eine Wirtschaft, die sich darauf spezialisiert hat – PERFEKT

Um, es kurz zu machen - die gefühlt nicht ausgelastete Bedienung musste ich aufsuchen und proaktiv bitten, etwas bestellen zu dürfen (eine von den vieren für den ca. 25% besetzten Raum, von dem die meisten „Bus“-Gäste gerade am gehen waren). Gut, das kann vorkommen, sie war dann auch gleich da und sehr höflich, Bestellung nett und unkompliziert.

Das Essen war sehr schnell am Tisch.

Ich hatte noch nie ein Cordon Bleu, dass den gesamten Teller einnimmt, dafür extrem dünn geklopft ist und somit ungeahnt anders war. Bestimmt der Renner bei den vielen älteren Herrschaften, die mit großen Bussen da waren.

Ich hätte mich über die klassische Variante mit Fleisch zum Beißen / kauen gefreut. Man konnte das Cordon Bleu auch problemlos mit dem Löffel oder der Gabel "schneiden".

Das Pfannengericht hat sehr viel Öl mit der Panade aufgenommen, und leider an die darunter liegenden somit auch sehr öligen und dadurch latschigen Pommes abgegeben. Das Ketchup in der eigenen Abfüllung war auch nicht das, was ich mit erhofft habe.

Für mich eine komplette Enttäuschung und freiwillig gehe ich beim Schnitzelwirt nicht mehr essen.

Wir waren zu zweit essen, hatten jeder das gleiche bestellt, somit war es auch kein einmaliger Ausrutscher. Ich fand das Essen nur furchtbar. Die Coca-Cola war gut.

Das Ambiente ist eben von der Einrichtung auf viel Kundschaft ausgerichtet. Es ist nicht gemütlich aber passt schon. Der hintere Schotterparkplatz ist auf Grund der riesigen und vielen Schlaglöcher sehr vorsichtig zu befahren. Bei dem vorderen geteerten war ich mir nicht sicher, ob dieser zum Restaurant gehört.
