This restaurant is quite popular and therefore crowded. But it is not impossible to find a table. The sitting area outdoors is fantastic, since you can see the Closter and surroundings, and even though a parking lot is right there, it is still more or less quiet place and has an atmosphere of a historical backyard. great atmosphere in the garden of the restaurant with a water fountain; menu looks also great, however food quality is rather mediocre, my potato salad was anything but fresh judging from the dark corners of some of the potatoes. the schnitzel (pork) was so-so. This restaurant by the Heiligenkreuz monastery is very nice indeed. It's big so no worries about getting seats, but I think it's crowded usually. It's raining when I was there so there weren't so many people. The gasthof was still quite full.

The food was great, portion is quite big. I ordered wild boar escalope and it was really good. Meat was tender, it was served with a big pile of steamed veggie and these little fried mash potato. Yummmz!
