We really enjoyed our stay in this family run hotel. Rooms on the courtyard side are spacious, quiet, with small balcony, however i can imagine that summers can be loud here because of the restaurant in the courtyard that was closed now. ||||Room was clean, bed very comfortable and big (although it was not a double bed), very soft linens, the only thing i missed was another pillow. The one that i had was not enough. It was actually bit cold in the evening, so we opened the heating, and it worked perfectly, both in the bathroom and room. ||||Bathroom is very basic, with the separate toilette room inside (which i found very practical), shower cabin is spacey and there is plenty of hot water. Although they did not change our towels next day, everything was cleaned and perfectly ok. (we did not put the towel’s on the floor, however in most of the hotels they do change them anyway).||||Hotel is perfectly situated for exploring the many hike (or better said walking) routes.||15 min up the hill, behind the hotel is ruin of an old castle, very nice views from the top. ||Walking & cycling routes are everywhere around the hotel.||||Breakfast was always good, solid range of cheese, some ham, perfectly boiled eggs, marmalade, oatmeal and good variety of breads. I also liked the coffee there.||Dinner was amazing. Whatever we ate was delicious. Austrian food with a twist. Desserts were divine. I drowned myself in ice creams crunchy balls ( Eis - Knödel ) and because the ice cream was so good, i ordered some more ice cream. There is a good range of wine; however i suggest taking a bottle. The range is much larger than by glass. ||The small downside - I would of expected bit lower prices in the countryside, but i guess they can afford them because of the quality. Yes, you have a schnitzel for 10 eur, but if you take a steak, you pay between 20-30 eur, and the portions are max at 250-300g.||||That said, the family members working there are extremely nice, they are not the quickest, however, you will get everything you want and more. One goes there to relax, so there is no hurry in anything. I definitively think of revisiting the place...

Read moreI can highly recommend this hotel and restaurant! I can't say a wrong word about it. We were greeted warmly upon our arrival. We could use the elevator to get to our floor and the rooms. The rooms are spacious, tidy, clean and with everything you'd expect at such price point. The location of the hotel is phenomenal, withing a short hike's range is the castle ruin of Kirchschlag. The town as such has many shops (a great bakery almost next to the hotel) and 2 supermarkets and has also a lot of pretty architecture. The real highlight for me and my family was the food. When you stay at the hotel you can get a 3-course menu + a salad for 16€ (drinks are not included)! That is cheap for what you get. The quality of service (staff, taste, presentation) is superb. We all agreed that it is a literall culinary experience which you'll hardly get at any restaurant near this price range. All the meals were tasty, balanced and very interesting. You could choose from a dish with meat or vegetarian. The vegetarian options weren't just some simplified meat recipes but original and unusual combinations of ingredients, which often we didn't know. One evening the owner of this family legacy hotel came to us and checked if we are satisfied. He offered us a welcome glass of champagne on the house. We felt welcome and very...
