Geier. Die Bäckerei - Kaffeehaus — Restaurant in Gemeinde Korneuburg

Here at Geier Bakery Café you are located right next to the neo-gothic (medieval-style) city hall on main square of Korneuburg, a lovely town some 12 kilometers outside of Vienna. You can even reach Korneuburg by a short bike ride since there is a nice bike lane along the Danube river you also can reach by crossing a bridge from the northernmost spot of the famous Donauinsel – Danube Island – an artificial island finished in 1988, 21 km long splitting the Danube in half, and one of the many recreational attractions Vienna has to offer.

However, here at Geier you can have a seat in the nice patio at Korneuburg main square or you feel yourself at home inside in one of the many sofa-chairs and comfy seating this place features. There is even a nice mimesis of an open fire providing some additional atmosphere, even though it’s not a real fire place. As for the dishes, you can choose from a variety of ice cream sorts, breakfast deals, snacks, as well as many pastries, tarts and cakes from the showcase.

As for me, I took a Cappuccino Italiano and a Topfengolatsche (a Sweet Cheese pastry typical for Austria), one of my favorite. A delicious combination. The Cappuccino Italiano here is stronger than the Café Melange. There are even plugs in the wall for your devices. And the waiters are nice and give you the time so you have a good time here at Korneuburg main square. Well, and here you even get free Grander “Revitalised Water” as well as a hole in the ground as attraction, an old well covered by glass.

Great location in center of town. Easy parking. On the corner with good visabilty to watch the World go by. Serve breakfast all day. Great selection of fresh pastries and breads. Famous for their filled donuts without the hole, krapfen. I had a lovely latte and a yogurt cheesecake. Very tasty. Great presentation with fresh fruit on top. Also had a goulash soup, thick with potatoes and meat. Very delicious. Dog friendly, several customers sitting having coffee with dog laying beside them. No barking, ALL well behaved. Well decorated with fireplace and small area with tiny chairs for kids. Handicapped toilet available. Best spot in town for quiet coffee, snack and cake. Highly...

Waren heute zum Frühstück. Nach zehn Minuten wurden wir bedient. Es war gut besucht, darum hatten wir am anfang auch kein Problem zu warten. Bestellung haben wir laut Bon um 11:12 aufgegeben. Getränke sind recht flott gekommen. Nach einiger Zeit wollte eine junge Dame uns den Kaffee abservieren, obwohl er nicht leer war. Das gleiche wollte dann ihr Kollege mit meinem Cola machen.Denke die zwei waren Praktikanten und etwas überfordert. Später hatte ich den Wunsch auf ein zweites Cola, bekam die Antwort, er darf das nicht bearbeiten. Mir hätte genügt wenn er es weiter geleitet hätte. Den die Dame welche mit dem Orderman unterwegs war, die sah man am wenigsten. Essen ist um 12:03 gekommen! Ist eine extrem lange Wartezeit für ein Frühstück! Meine Frau hatte einen schmutzigen Teller bekommen. So etwas geht gar nicht!!!! Nach mehrmaligen deuten konnte ich endlich mein zweites Cola bestellen. Den das Frühstück wurde ja von dem jungen Mann gebracht der nicht dafür zuständig war. Am Nebentisch waren Gäste auch schon aufgebracht da sie schon mehrmals den Wunsch geäußert haben zu zahlen! Es ist uns erst im Auto aufgefallen das wir die Orangensäfte die beim Frühstück dabei waren nicht bekommen haben. Wärend wir gewartet haben um zu zahlen, ist uns aufgefallen, auf zwei Tischen sind Leute gegangen, da sie nicht bedient worden sind. Ich bin selbst in der Gastronomie tätig, und habe einen ähnlichen Job. Ich gebe dem Personal gar nicht so die große Schuld an dieser Katastrophe, die zwei jungen müssen noch viel lernen, und die Dame war schlicht weg überfordert. Das Problem liegt an der Geschäftsleitung, es gehört die Arbeitseinteilung besser organisiert, und nicht mit diesem Personal glauben das Gäste...
